Earlier this week, future Hall of Famers "Sugar" Shane Mosley and Ronald "Winky "Wright announced their intentions to retire from boxing. Wright, 40-years-old and a former undisputed champion at 154, retired not long after Saturday's decision loss to middleweight contender Peter Quillin. Mosley, also 40 and a former three division champion, retired a few weeks after his decision loss to WBC 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez.

Former two division champion and the oldest fighter to ever win a major championship, Bernard Hopkins, still appears eager to continue punching. Hopkins, 47, lost a twelve round majority decision to Chad Dawson in April, but the old veteran was still very competitive in the fight.

"Winky Wright and "Sugar" Shane Mosley, they both did a hell of a job and they both understand that the time they feel it needs to be done, they understand that it needs to be done. I'm no Winky Wright and I'm no "Sugar" Shane Mosley and I think I've proven that. They had a great career. Their time....they feel had came - and mine might be one that might come and it might not be. They both had great careers and they have nothing to be ashamed of. They leave the game like they left the game and I'm supporting them.," Hopkins told BoxingScene.com.

Hopkins is a freak of nature and a good fighter, but he so full of himself.

After that lackluster performance with Dawson where he really looked like an old man, he needs to let it go too.

Yep... and this sentence right here "Their time....they feel had came - and mine might be one that might come and it might not be." leads me to believe he might seriously be getting a little punch drunk... :smh:

he has been ready for retirement since calzaghe SLAP that ass a long time ago. Only clowns believe any of the hype coming out of this "CHUMP" mouth.

Now this is going too far. Hopkins has won some big fights since the Calzaghe fight so I have to disagree with that with proof to back me up.

Why do you guys go for the bait every time?:lol::smh: Nicca sound real salty about that Calzaghe fight, could he still have feelings about Bernard's whole "white boy" comment?:hmm: Because Bernard had a couple great wins AFTER that fight. And for the record, Calzaghe didn't do shit to win that fight, Bernard lost HIMSELF that fight.

Also Bernard needs to go sit down.
