Bellator fights on NOW

Yeah - it’s tricky with the Page match-ups. I often feel the same about Valentina and Nunes in the UFC. They need better, more competitive matchmaking. Or Kayla Harrison in PFL. She is great, but her opponents are not. No need for her to face Cyborg in Bellator or Nunes in UFC. Make better, easier PFL money. At least Pacheco gave her a fight in
2019 and looked good again in her fight on Thurs evening too. Someone who can actually fight and not get steamrolled like others vs Harrison.

As for Venom Page ... he is not getting any younger either. Mid-30s now. But then again, not really taking much damage. Maybe just hurting his foot a bit crushing peoples’ noses.

I'm not a fan of MVP at all though. I just think dude would get fucked up in the UFC.

Obviously dude is talented, but most of the guys he's fought are not even close to his level of competition.

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out. Page & Lima are rematching in October. Lima KO'd Page in May 2019.

Since then he's lost his title.

Lima is 1-2 since beating Page. Whereas Page is 5-0.

@Helico-pterFunk You watch the UFC fights tonight?

Some crazy good fights all night!

I was sort of bummed that 4 fights fell out, especially Nico Montana's fight.
I'm sure The UFC will cut her for missing weight combined with all the other shit she's done. Damn shame. I think she's a hell of a fighter, but she's got to get her head right.

I just hate that Lima likes Page.
Hopefully he will KO him again.:please:

At this point, Page should decide where he wants to take his career. He's 34. If he wants better paydays and match-ups, he'd be wise to try and make a statement.

Tough test w/ Lima who is more battle-tested. Glanced at his record though - he's taken quite a bit more damage (at 33yo) given his tougher match-ups, and many 5-round, 25 min' fights over his career.

Agreed. I was impressed by some of the individual performances. Some nice victories. Good to see Buys get back on track. Nice clean headkick when her opponent lifted off the canvas. Very impressive calm approach (and cardio) from Strickland in the main event.

I hear you re: Montano. Someone said it best the other day on an MMA site ... "I want to be a fan of hers. But it's tough with all the delays at this point. Too inconsistent ..."

Here's some info from Wiki -

Montaño was expected to fight Sijara Eubanks for the inaugural UFC Women's Flyweight Championship at The Ultimate Fighter 26 Finale on December 1, 2017.[10] However, Eubanks was pulled from the fight for kidney failure while trying to make weight, and was replaced by Roxanne Modafferi.[11][12] Montaño won the fight via unanimous decision and claimed the inaugural UFC Women's Flyweight Championship title.[13] This win also earned her the Fight of the Night bonus.[14] At the post fight interview, Montaño revealed her financial struggles prior to her win and her appreciation for the prize money she was about to receive:[15][16]

“We were dirt poor just before tonight in all reality. I’m going to go move to an apartment with some water pressure, and buy some good food and treats for my cats.”[16]

Montaño was scheduled to face Valentina Shevchenko on September 8, 2018 at UFC 228.[17] However, prior to the weigh-ins for the event, Montaño was transported to a hospital due to the effects of weight cutting and the bout was cancelled.[18] Montaño was subsequently stripped of the UFC Women Flyweight title.[19]

It was reported that on April 23, 2019, Montaño was suspended by USADA for 6 months for testing positive for ostarine from an out-of-competition test conducted on October 25, 2018. Suspension retroactive from November 15, 2018. She is eligible to fight again on May 15, 2019.[20]

Montaño was expected to face Sara McMann in a bantamweight bout on July 13, 2019 at UFC on ESPN+ 13.[21] However, McMann pulled out of the bout citing an injury and was replaced by Julianna Peña.[22] She lost the fight via unanimous decision.[23]

Montaño was scheduled to face Macy Chiasson on February 15, 2020 at UFC Fight Night 167.[24] However, Montaño was forced to pull from the event due to injury and she was replaced by Shanna Young.[25]

Montaño was scheduled to face Julia Avila on August 8, 2020 at UFC Fight Night 174.[26] However, due to Montano's coach John Wood testing positive for COVID-19, the bout was reschedule to UFC Fight Night 176.[27] However, Montaño tested positive for COVID-19 and the bout was moved to UFC Fight Night: Holm vs. Aldana.[28] Subsequently, on September 3, it was announced that Montaño withdrew from the bout due to travel restrictions. In turn Avila was rescheduled to face Sijara Eubanks at UFC Fight Night 177 on September 12.[29]

Montaño was scheduled to face Karol Rosa on February 6, 2021 at UFC Fight Night 184.[30] However, for undisclosed reason, she was pulled from the bout and was replaced by Joselyne Edwards.[31]

Montaño was scheduled to face Wu Yanan on July 31, 2021 at UFC on ESPN 28.[32] Due to Montano’s overage at 143 pounds, or seven pounds over the maximum 136 pounds allowed for non-title bantamweight fights, the Montano vs. Yanan fight was cancelled.[33]

Montano looked so broken on the scales.7 pounds is a huge miss.

Plus, I just find her sexy....lol.

Oh well, I'm sure if she wants to fight, she can find a home somewhere.

This was a cool clip of Buys....

I like Montano's look too. She definitely needs to get her health in check - those weight cuts aren't doing her any favors. Like you said - 7lbs is a huge miss (she's nearly up 1 whole weight division). Perhaps Bellator is next, or chase PVZ & Ostovich over to OnlyFans & BKFC and cash those big checks, lol.

That's a good clip with Buys. Her husband (also a UFC fighter) with her.

Thanks bruh...I was out and needed to see that main event. Ended up getting the ustv app

You’re welcome. That’s great re: app. Does it air lots of events?

The Bellator and Showtime Sports youtube channels are worthwhile bookmarks. Lots of prelim and main card content indexed on there. They’ve been really good to have in later streaming stuff.

AJ looks unstoppable right now, I bet uncle Dana is seeing dollar signs and tryna figure out when that contract is up lol

I think the tricky thing will be contractually-speaking. Especially when other organizations like Bellator and PFL have had tournament formats in recent years (with the 1-million grand prize). If I remember correctly ... I was reading an article earlier in the week re: contracts for the main event. As champ, Pitbull was at 250k. AJ was at 150k, but also claimed the 1-million grand prize. Plus in Bellator they can have their outside sponsors, and his value will go up now as a champ, as will his base pay.

Not sure what they (UFC) offered Michael Chandler last year, but he made the move over to the UFC from Bellator later in his career. He knew he had been one of the faces for the other org', but it was now or never to test himself against other elites in his 155lb division. They must have made it worth his while, despite losing individual sponsorships. Believe he still has his own deal with Monster. He's also gotten a bit of desk work as one of the analysts when they have fighters in.

Side note - Pitbull TKO'd Chandler in 1 minute in 2019. But 3 years prior to that Chandler KO'd his brother in just over 2 mins.

Wild sport.

Romero pissed me off tonight i mean all that talk and dude didnt show up. he was wild and wasnt there..i cant stand Phil but i tip my hat to him cause he showed up tonight..

after he didn't show up in his last UFC fight...I was done with him. It was more of the same shit.
