That's how racist whites feel about blacks.
So you believe in PROFILING?? The same thing police (and your white neighbors) do to black men who supposedly "project" an "image" of criminality.
Here's a crazy idea. CONTROL yourself in the presence of a scantily-dressed woman. SHE has the RIGHT to wear whatever she wants, and STILL expect to be safe from assault (physical or verbal).

And Mo had it right when he said your attitude and actions will determine what happens to you- if you exhibit an opening or behavior that makes you ripe for a crime be it rape or robbery, it will happen. The would be victim invites their soon to be assailants- or at least this is what is taught in victimology class.

I don't think the point of this thread was to talk about NOT approaching a person at all (as a means to end harassment), but the manner in which one approaches a person of the opposite sex. YES, some women may be okay with you coming up to them, calling them out of their name and grabbing their ass, etc. BUT, it's all in how you do it and who you are approaching that is key...
But, again, how does this explain the sister who a) isn't wearing trashy clothing, and b) carrying herself appropriately who DOES get approached on some bullshit? I will say it generally is less likely to happen, pending how a woman is dressed, BUT some men will still act a fool because of the woman's breast size, butt size, etc.
Like I said, that's what's stated in my victimology class. I agree with it, though not 100%. But the book doesn't account for that.
My look on crimes of any kind is on a case by case basis because there is no calculation for human behavior. If I ever get the chance to teach any sort of criminal justice class I'm putting as much psychology in it as possible, (you of all people on here can see where I'm going), because I have never seen the nature v. nurture argument used so many times on so many different sub-topics. No one in CJ seem too take the human element too seriously, but that one argument gets thrown around like it's attached to the hip of the law.
Perhaps because unfortunately many men see women as not to be " Pursued " or " Won ", but as conquests to be commanded and controlled. Therefore needing to always be approached with aggression.
The men you speak of use intimidation as an attempt to gain control over a woman through fear. They will treat any woman in that manner, no matter her appearance or how she may carry herself.
I agree with your statements, dear sir, particularly the bolded. I would challenge any man to be in a situation in which a woman "violently" approaches him, and tries sticking her hand in private places and mouthing dirty and inappropriate language to him...
Yeah, I could believe a man could get a "rush" out of it, but that doesn't mean the man wanted it or will comply with it. I actually believe it would intimidate a man to be approached so aggressively by a woman, even if it is a woman he is feeling...
