Bed bugs @ MGM Grand

That shit was planted. Bed bugs don't hang out on the top of made beds. They only come out at night to feed, then they hide in walls and furniture, some place dark.

I manage a mattress company, so I'm well versed in bed bugs.

Didn't kno them shyts got that big tho, look like a fukkin tick.....

I stayed at the MGM during my last visit to Vegas and had no issues at all.
People act like there's hotels that are immune to bed bugs. All hotels are capable of getting them.
As long as there's not bugs all in the bed, just flick that one off the bed and keep it moving.
That doesn't even look like a bed bug, they're supposed to be barely visible to the naked eye.
Folks always trying to get some shit for free.

“We have more people affected by bed bugs in the United States now than ever before,” says Orkin Entomologist and Director of Technical Services Ron Harrison, Ph.D., adding that bed bugs are a growing issue. “They were virtually unheard of in the U.S. 10 years ago,” he says.

According to a 2015 “Bugs without Borders Survey” by the National Pest Management Association, nearly all (99.6 percent) of pest professionals nationwide have treated bed bugs in the past year, up from five, 10 and 15 years ago.

Bed bugs are great hitchhikers because they travel from place to place with ease, including luggage, purses and other belongings. Bed bugs can be found anywhere, from single family homes, apartments and hotel, to public places like movie theaters, public transit and libraries and offices.

“Anyone can get bed bugs in their home. They are not a sign of uncleanliness. Bed bugs only need blood to survive. We have treated for bed bugs in everything from million dollar homes to public housing,” Harrison says.

Bed bugs can be difficult to detect and treat because of their small size and ability to survive up to a year without feeding. They are about the size of an apple seed when fully grown, and can hide around seams of a mattress, behind headboards and in cracks and crevices, usually within a five-foot radius of the bed. The first signs of a bed bug infestation are often the bed bugs themselves or small dark stains bed bugs can leave behind.

“People may have bed bugs and not know it, because many people have no physical reaction to bed bug bites,” Harrison says. “That’s why it’s important for people everywhere to inspect for bed bugs regularly.”

While the 50 metro areas listed above required the most treatments for bed bugs in 2016, Orkin has treated for bed bugs in all 50 states and around the world. To help detect and prevent bed bugs, Orkin recommends homeowners and travelers do the following:

At Home:

  • Inspect your home for signs of bed bugs regularly. Check locations where bed bugs hide during the day, including mattress seams and behind baseboards, headboards, electrical outlets and picture frames. “I like to inspect every week when I change the sheets to make sure I don’t have a visitor,” Harrison says.
  • Decrease clutter around your home to make bed bug inspections and detection much easier.
  • Inspect all secondhand furniture before bringing it inside your home.
  • Dry potentially infested bed linens, curtains and stuffed animals on the hottest temperature allowed for the fabric.
During travel, remember the acronym S.L.E.E.P to inspect for bed bugs:

  • Survey the hotel room for signs of an infestation. Look for black or brown spots on any furniture.
  • Lift and look in bed bug hiding spots: the mattress, box spring, bedskirt and other furniture, as well as behind baseboards, pictures and even torn wallpaper.
  • Elevate luggage away from the bed and wall. The safest place is in the bathroom.
  • Examine your luggage while repacking and once you return home from a trip.
  • Place all dryer-safe clothing from your luggage in the dryer for at least 15 minutes at the highest setting after you return home.
Bed bugs can quickly become a major problem, as they can spread from room to room if undetected and allowed to multiply. Anyone who suspects a bed bug infestation should contact a pest management professional immediately.

Just a question......if you have never had bed bugs, how do u know what they look like? I still wouldnt know one if I saw it.
Google... That's how I found out what they were... Plus they literally only come out when you're sleeping or sitting still for a long time...

I had them once way back, maybe 11 years ago in one of the nicest looking, maintained apartment complexes in Houston. Moved in and then fuckers was all over the place. I couldn't even sit down to watch TV in the living area without being attacked. I would sleep in long sleeve shirts, sweats and then tuck my sweats into my socks. I'd still wake up with bite marks all over me.

I made my apartment management company pay for movers to relocate us to a different building, any dry cleaning we had to do on clothes, upholstery cleaning for furniture, and anything else we bought that was directly related to exterminating those things.

Having had bed bugs, I wouldn't wish that on my worse enemy. It is that bad.

How can u prevent them? I have cleaning people come in twice a week for gp upkeep. I just got one of those bagless vaccums to vaccum the mattress.

How did u get rid of them evil mofos? Professional pest dude . Heck what do u do now to keep them at away from the crib?

On the bed we had to get those mattress covers that you put on there for old people and kids that pee the bed. I wrapped two on mine, then duct taped the seams on each one. We then washed EVERYTHING and dried them on the hottest setting possible. Then we bombed the hell outta our furniture. Like they had set up underneath the couches we had in our living area because ex wife and I used to watch movies in there and those little bastards eventually got us in there too. So we had the exterminator poke a hole in the fabric underneath the couch and spray that too.

first you have to find the source.. no sense going through all that trouble just to have em pop up again..

I dont have bed bugs or roaches.. but you can try this you summabytch..

  1. Apply silica gel. Grind up some crystal silica gel and apply it all over in your bedroom. Put some on your mattress, around the bed and along the wall. The fine silica gel will get stuck to the bug and it cannot be shaken off, causing the bug to dehydrate and die. [2] Be careful not to inhale it.
    • Diatomaceous earth has similar effects to silica gel and can be used around mattress seams and along the rails of the box spring. The sharp micro fossils cut into the soft bugs making them bleed.
    • If you have a cat, change the cat litter (crystal silica gel) every 5 days so the newly hatched eggs will dehydrate too. Repeat for 5 weeks.

A good way to tell that your apartment or building has bed bugs is put double-sided sticky tape around the outside of all Outlets

Bed bugs are so small they can crawl through the outlets of an apartment building. That's how they infest.

I told a friend of mine to do this and she thought I was joking until she moved her dresser to get something behind it and saw 3 bed bugs stuck to the sticky tape. Luckily, none had entered her apartment and the exterminators came out to her apartment building in full force and eliminated the bed bugs
