I know you BGOL political experts can break it down for an apathetic citizen without leaning on the "they're bad, we're good" tropes.

If the Democrats win back the house they will gain subpoena power and actually be able to investigate/hold Trump accountable for a number of things including the sabotage of Obamacare and him/his family/cabinet looting the government. The Democrats will also be able to release his tax returns to show how he is using the Presidency to pay back people he is indebted to. If you haven't been paying attention, the cost of goods/services and gas are creeping up because of some of the stupid things he has been doing with tax/trade policy and the Democrats will actually have the ability to draw attention to the fuckery and stop some of it. Most importantly, the Democrats will have the ability to stop him from engaging in some "Wag the dog" shit as we approach 2020. You and your kids will pay the cost for the BS he has already been able to do the deficit/debt and environment in the last 2 years but your grandkids will pay the cost if he doesn't have a check on his insanity after the midterms.

You actually bring up a good point(I sound like a pandering Hillary). It won't. And that's the problem. The sky hasn't fell since Trump took over. Everyone here still paying their bills. Cats buying new shit. Living life. Basically did the same under Bush, Obama, and Clinton.

It's more about incremental changes. And that's why voters get apathetic. What folks don't get is it's hard to tell SOME people how important voting is when they struggling no matter who is in office.

That's why shit is constantly flip flopping in this country. People think voting this way will save them from check-to-check and when that doesn't happen, they choose the other path.

Voting in this election can check Republican power. Might not help pockets in the next couple years, but can in the long run. Problem is democrats set the bar of failure so high for Trump and people still living the same lives as years ago.
