In the rap world, we all acknowledge that Sean Combs, aka Diddy, is one of the best businessmen around. S how big is he really? Well, according to Crains, a leading and trusted business publication, Combs' Bad Boy enterprise actually rates as the third-largest business owned by a minority within New York City and its surrounding counties.

What does this mean? Well, the 18-year-old company, which encompasses Bad Boy Records as well as restaurants, a recording studio, marketing firm, film company and more, is a major business player in the capital of U.S. business. The Atlanta Post estimates that the company brings in an annual revenue upwards of $300 million and comfortably runs with an estimated 600 employees.

To make Crains' list, a business must be privately owned and headquarted within the New York area. That includes the City, as well as Suffolk and Westchester counties upstate and Bergen, Essex, Hudson and Union counties in New Jersey. For the list, a business must be at least 51 percent owned by minorities.

Bad Boy came in right behind Goya Foods and Palladium Equity Partnerships. Goya, which is owned by people of Hispanic heritage, raked in a whopping $1.5 billion in revenue in 2009, the year in which Crains took its revenue statistics.

But then religion and prison would miss out

I can't stand Diddy, but I respect the hell out of his hustle to keep his business going

The Nigga is the ultimate hustler. Him and Jay-z could school some people on how to come up.

No need to compare them. Theres more than enough room for Jay both Diddy... AND Me!

:yes:c/s

that's why i trip off people talking bout him dropping a million at bitch ross party. not because he has it but that was business - some marketing clients were paying for that shit

 Who uses their own money to party? Ciroc paid for that shit.

All of the attention whoring is but it's how he makes money and keeps getting tv shows. It certainly isn't by making good music.

He sucks as a rapper, but the first two Dirty Money singles aren't bad for what they are (popped-out music).

Diddy is a performer.

He does that ON and off stage. I doubt a dude who ADMITTED to not writing his own lyrics TRULY thinks of himself as an MC in the traditional sense. Hell, from what I hear, he's not even a hands on producer, he just KNOWS what sounds good. Well, at least he USED to. Some of that old Bad Boy shit was hot.

This asshole destroyed R&B and Hip Hop. Fuck'em.

Did he really?

Diddy is anything but an innovator.

He's just so visible and put's out so much shit, that it's easy to assume he's behind all the shit that's wrong with hip hop and R & B.

Dude is a follower that attempts to capitalize on what other people came up with. Someone else has to be blamed for the demise of R & B and Hip Hop. I certainly wouldn't give dude that much credit.
