Back to corporate slavery

After about a year of deliberation, I finally Sold my business to Walgreens. It was bittersweet. Back to the corporate grind. If yall personally know any independent pharmacy owners, wish them luck every time you run into them and say a little prayer for them cos it's getting hard out there for us. Shit hit me when they started taking the sign off.

Sorry to hear that bruh... i never been a business owner before so i can only imagine the bitter sweet feeling of letting go your baby...only words i got is congrats on a new beginning!

Props Sir.

I like the words "sold" and "Walgreens". Sounds like you will be just fine. On to your next adventure!
Sounds like you've never built a business from the ground up.
Its not about being "fine", its about losing what you started.
That's like having your restaurant turned into a McDondalds.

Sorry for your loss, brotha. Everything is temporary. Use this time to refocus and make your next move. Keep your eyes open and the next enterpreneurial opportunity will present itself to you.
Remember, you're not done until you decide you're done.

Got to put it into perspective for some cats.

Sorry about how things worked out for dude. Hope everything works out in the future

Sorry, I didn't mean to call you out. I felt that. I've had to close a business that I built and it hurts.
Shit kinda hit home for me.
No biggy. I've ran a few businesses over the years. Nothing I got a chance to sell to a bigger entity though. My courier business did hurt a bit when I had to close up shop. Also, when I pass by my old web design office it stings a little to see a new name on the space.

Congrats on your journey, I'm sure the entrepreneurship space hasn't seen the last of you. At least you had a clean exit. They started kicking in the doors on independent pharmacies around here lately. Fed and state charges for running pill mills. You stuck it out and didn't sacrifice your freedom for finances. Props.

thanks for all the well wishes. i think i gotta clarify something though...it was a bittersweet moment as i mentioned earlier but i gotta tell yall, i am glad it's over now. running it was starting to become a headache. so i am actually in a better space mentally. i had a good run, 13 years. went into business when wifey was about to drop our first born and having the freedom to make my own schedule and not answer to anyone was one of the best things to happen to me. it definitely came with a lot perks but the biggest one being the financial freedom. but right now, Allah has made it such that I can close this chapter of my life and open a new one. it was a good climax.

bruhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh  DEA just cashing checks left and right at the expense of pharmacy owners, fining mofos left and right just because they can. they ran up on a friend of mine last year, $200,000 in fines. now just imagine if you got your little half a mill nest egg squared away and now you gotta dip into that and give Uncle 200k, just because...

Some young African cat had a pharmacy right across the street. He got raided by the feds after taunting them on the news and in videos. I'm not sure how he thought that was a good idea.

Something fishy definitely going on with independent pharmacies in Georgia cause there's 2 in walking distance right here....like competing cell phone stores.

When Elon Musk wanted to buy Twitter, he had to pay serious money for it. Let say he wanted to buy a black social media company to integrate into Twitter like BGOL, it would be pocket change for him.

This is due to the effect of wealth differential affecting the valuation of companies as a result of slavery/Jim Crow. Now you employees are forced to work for Walgreens, some will eventually turn into Stephen attacking me out of nowhere even though I barely know them.

I cheat...to win...brah
That's how all the whales became whales. They do it so hard, that after a while it just seems normal to them and everyone around them. But if you look so many of their current standard practices were previously out of bounds. In fact many of the rules that were put in place after the great depression have been scrapped so a few people can get rich. I guess there'll just have to be another one.

The rules are written in stone straight from god some and written in etch a sketch for some.

Don't give up bro. Tomorrow is a new day. thanks bruh
You the white guy in the pic? nah, that was a walgreens exec

No one looks at their pharmacist as a pillar of the community.

and that's a damn shame you know but i can understand why. in an urban setting, most people don't really see pharmacists as something very vital to the community but it wasn't always like this. the older folks who grew up in an era long before the big chain pharmacies came into play are the one who really appreciated the hell out of their neighborhood pharmacies and pharmacists. Irony here is that you take a behemoth like walgreens and it started out as a mom and pop. in certain rural areas and smalltown USA right now tho, there are still mom and pops that are considered pillars of the community because there are aren't a lot of big chains in town. and you take a state like North Dakota, the state board of pharmacy has made it so that it's hard for the chains to penetrate the market there, so in such a state, the small drug stores continue to thrive. it's either N or S dakota. cant remember which one.
