What up fam? I hope all is well with everybody. Exactly a year ago a few of us were discussing different business ideas. I was all in with getting myself and others on track to at least creating resources to eliminate monthly bills, if not getting rich - wealthy. I shared several ideas and had planned on executing a few myself. But then my personal life took a crazy ass left turn when my wife pulled not only the rug, but the planet out from under me, and everything has been outta whack ever since. Now I wanna get back focused and I hope a few of you are willing to kick around plans and ideas with me. I'd also love to hear of any successes anyone here may have had with any of the ideas we discussed last year. Even if you only did it for a while then stopped, but were actually seeing some progress, or were all set to start but for some reason couldn't pull it off, please share your story.
I just launched my first t-shirt campaign on teespring.com - https://tspr.ng/c/flushshirt
At this point, I felt like I just had to dive in because I could easily look up and have lost another year. So I designed the shirt in about 10 minutes and had it launched in another 20. If any of you guys are thinking about doing something like that, just do it. Not tomorrow, or next week - right now. You'll feel better afterward. Even if I don't sell one shirt, I still feel better about finally starting. That was a hurdle which no longer exists. I don't know if y'all know, but after planning, that's the most importan step in business.
One thing I wanna throw out there as an idea is the app 'Wish'. I don't know if y'all ever checked it out, but there's all kinda shit on there at rock bottom, wholesale prices. I'm a big Superman fan, so I'm always grabbin things with the logo: shirts, jewelry, mugs, etc. Anyway, I have a dog tag and a pendant that I always wear. It cost my girl around $25 from Wal-Mart. The same damn thing is on Wish for $1. They have all the different superhero merch on there. Plus just about anything you can think of. My thing is, any of us can take a free $100 and grab a bunch of items that can sell from $5-$25 a pop. Think about that with the next money you're about to blow on cigarettes, lottery tickets, beer, shoes, clothes, etc. Waste that $100 on all that crap that depreciates, or turn it into $500-$2,500.
Another app made by the same people is called 'Geek'. They have many of the same things, but the thing that stood out to me was those handheld games modeled after the old gameboy advance. The shit was on there today for $11... but it comes with 600 old school games. I'm talkin NES & SNES games. You can move those for $25 all day, every day. If you only sold four per day, you'll have spent $44 to make $100 - a $56 profit. So you're doubling up - considering shipping cost. That's $1,500 per month. If you're like me, my bills total just about that. So if I do nothing else but move that four a day, I can eliminate all of my bills, and it's not like this would interfere with my day job. So now my paycheck is completely bankable. And all I'll ever have had to spend outta pocket is my initial investment.
The smart move would be to re-invest every penny you earn from this venture and continue to live as if it doesn't exist. The 'Pinball Machine' strategy from Warren Buffet that I discussed last year. If ends are already meeting, even if barely, continue to live that way while your venture grows. You'll know when it's time to quit your day job. All you have to do is reach a point where it's earning you twice what you make monthly from working for someone else plus your overhead. This means that if your job pays you $2,000 per month, and your overhead is $500 per month, then you need to be consistently bringing in $4,500 monthly from your venture. Consistently means six months to a year without wavering. There should only be increase, never a shortage. If you make $4,500 a month for five months, and in the sixth month you make $4,000, it isn't safe to quit your job; and you need to begin your retirement countdown again. The only exception to that rule is if you already have your house, cars, funeral and burial plot costs paid for. Then you can afford to quit and concentrate on your business because you can continue to pay yourself the salary you were earning without it damaging anything. The added freedom per week which on average is about 55 hours per week, will enable you to dedicate your time and energy to your own business and therefore increase your earnings.
Anyway fam, I hope to hear from everyone who was onboard last year, and maybe even a few new voices. GOD bless - 100
