Avengers: Age of Ultron movie review

Was it me, or did anyone state how the build up & trailers gave away too much of the great action scenes in the movie? I left not feeling like there was a surprise moment or something great I hadn't already seen or knew was going to happen. As a fan, the movie was good, but I agree, it was not better than the 1st Avengers movie, Winter Soldier or maybe even the 1st Iron Man. I left jive like missing Loki's character & all his mischievous ways. Also, post the collapse of S.H.I.E.L.D in Winter Soldier, the mini story in the weekly series, and all the other movies between the ending of the last Avenger movie, I don't feel like Marvel did a solid job of bringing everything together into this movie. It opened up with them attacking what's left of Hydra. Who organized this effort? Did I miss something? I left a lil disappointed. Had I not seen the Hulkbuster at all or had no knowledge this fight was going to happen, I might have been a little surprised. And that's just one of many moments I felt this way about. :(

Agreed. it's a world issue glad they went around the world this time.

The little things stood out so much more than the action for me. The vision was great man. it really acted like "i am" in all scenes. in the middle of a fight he swings thor's hammer then they're discussing the balance of weight
They went around the world because they needed Chinese butts in the theatre.

Many of the action scenes were very quick and hard to figure out who was doing what. No complains? Not surprised.

the action scenes in these movies are just to showcase a couple quick cool things not really there for sense or coordinating purposes imo. just here is x doing this special thing we wanted him to do. here is x doing that thing we hoped. here is x and y working together that's sort of cool oh here comes z because i wasn't expecting z to show up out of nowhere how cool can this get!

that's what these types of movies are.

the fucking lego commercial right before the movie gave away everything that happened in the movie. i wanted to throw something at the screen :lol:

and this is why i don't watch trailers anymore. i will watch the first teaser trailer. that is it.

now when they show trailers at the movies for movies i want to see i literally close my eyes and plug my ears.

i watched the trailers after i saw the movie and i know i would have been heated had i seen the trailers before hand.

So their done with a purpose for the film by the filmmaker?

Why can't other films do that then?

i never said they couldn't just with these types of films its what they do. the ensemble cast everyone has to shine at different points. i think they balance it pretty well and find enough minions so that everyone has a crack at showcasing abilities lol

different from the independent films because there it can be 1v1 cause we're all here to see the 1

Yall pretty much touched on a lot of stuff.

I'll keep this quick.

I'll take the 'lame' villain Ultron was. Dude proved to be a menace because he is everywhere, constantly upgrading. Vision might have destroyed the last Ultron-bot but who knows if he isn't waiting out there searching the net for startups to build him a better body or a better home. Shit, he probably playing the stock game to get money to buy a house. He wasn't the real threat though: his ultimate plan to kill people was using Hydra technology. His actions caused a riff between IM and Cap. The threat was the outcome of his menace, not his menacing actions.

Although I liked DoFP Quicksilver, it was sad to this one die. And to be honest the only reason I liked the first one better was because he was funny. I like to laugh. Both dudes did the damn acting thing (more so with the accents in this one) so I can't really complain.

Did Renner sign on for more movies?

What I am really hating right now is how everyone is out counting easter eggs that are in plain view. The fuck. I saw some article about the end credits scene about how Thanos getting the gems himself was the biggest easter egg in the movie. :l Your call, not mine.

Even if we don't get a Black Widow movie, can we at least get Dottie flashbacks on the second season of Agent Carter? That school/hell is so interesting...and we keep getting teased about it.

I expect Hulk is going to be emotionally affected by BW. Perhaps it could have to do with bringing Bruce back since there can't be a stand alone Hulk movie and we might not get to see him tricked and thrown into space.

...

If I have more I'll come back.

AC is on the bubble. WTF are they thinking with all of this marvel momentum? :smh:

'We will know in 3 weeks if 'Agent Carter' is renewed for another season. But it looks good given the fan response.'"

wasnt a bad movie but i agree with all points except 4.
No, not at all! It was a great movie, I really enjoyed it. Seen it twice so far (both times in IMAX). If I nitpick it's only for certain things and not to say the movie is bad:yes:

I had an opposite feeling. They gave away what they normally do in trailers: show some big action scenes and give away just a little of the story.
I was in a theater that "ooohhh" when the Vision picked up Mjolnir and again with the fate of Quicksilver and I never knew War Machine was going to take an active hand in the actual fighting.

he stole the entire movie for me. so much so i had those bad tv vibes where you get to see a character and how they really shine when normally you don't right before they kill him lol. i kept waiting for it.. like fuck here it comes!

Yeah, he had a Tyrese-from-Walking Dead vibe going for me. They were set up for a scene of Cap and Nat having to go tell his widow what happened.

How Close Did Spider-Man Come To Being In Avengers? Joss Whedon Explains
Thanks to a landmark deal that was officially announced back in February, Spider-Man will be making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe - starting with an appearance in 2016's Captain America: Civil War. If it were up to writer/director Joss Whedon, however, the web-slinger's appearance in the MCU would have been a lot sooner, as he very much wanted to include the character in The Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Whedon was recently a guest on the Empire Film Podcast, and during the long spoiler-filled discussion, the filmmaker revealed that he had some very big plans to involved Spider-Man in his Avengers sequel. Asked about the reveal of the new Avengers line-up at the end of the film, Whedon explained that he wanted all of the characters that are included - but also wanted to add a couple more names. One of these heroes was Captain Marvel, who we already know got pulled out, but the writer/director also tried to get the friendly neighborhood wall-crawler involved as well.

It was at this point that Joss Whedon also referenced that there had been some negotiations between both Sony and Marvel about the Spider-Man property around the time of the first Avengers came out - but those talks didn't work out in time, and neither did the talks preceding The Avengers: Age of Ultron. The director said,

I was like, ‘And Spider-Man, we could [include him in Avengers 2 also], cause Sony had approached us during the first movie about a little integration. So I would have put both [Captain Marvel and Spider-Man] in, but neither of the deals were made. And then they were like, ‘We’re making a Captain Marvel movie and we’ve got Spider-Man as a property,’ and I’m like, ‘I’ve already locked my film, you fuckers! Thanks for nothing.'

Back in 2012 when both The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man came out, there were reports that said that there had been discussions between Marvel and Sony about possibly including the OsCorp Tower in the New York City skyline of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but a deal couldn't be made in time.

As a result of all this, Spider-Man isn't in The Avengers: Age of Ultron - but it won't be long until he comes a big player in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to his aforementioned appearance in Captain America: Civil War, he is also set to get his very own new solo movie in 2017. Plus, he is surely going to be a player in Marvel Studios' long-term plans, which is to say that he could play an expanded role in The Avengers: Infinity War Parts 1 and 2.

I also needed more Fury. And it needed more time. It was too short for everyone who's there. And i really wish there was Captain Marvel. I'm going to need that real damn soon.

Glad they didn't show that in ours!:lol:

man it was like "help captain america fight ultron in africa"

then it was like "help ironman capture the hulk using veronica"

"help the hulk escape"

"help convince the twins to join the side of good"

"welcome nick fury and war machine as they join the fight"

:lol::lol::lol:

i was so fucking mad

Hopefully it does. That was a good show/mini-series. I also can't wait to see how Skye deals with her mother next week...Coulson sees through the mess. They all talking about how close they are to Skye to deal with the situation, but now it seems as though Skye is too close to her Jiyang (sp) to see what's really going on.

Poor Raina.

F raina. she did it to herself she couldn't help herself. all she had to do was talk to everybody involved about her vision and it probably would've went differently. instead she tried to play the old sneaky games and ended up getting tossed up.

she was right but because she reverted to her devious ways instead of turning over a new leaf of honesty, things played out the way that they did.

When did you start Watching SHIELD?

Thoroughly enjoyed this movie.

IMO it ranks second in these MCU movies.

Winter Soldier is just that shit. That's one of those movies that, if you flipping channels and u see it's on, you put the remote down and finish watching it.

I'm just here so I don't get fined

That's the same place I would put "AGE OF ULTRON".

"WINTER SOLDIER" is still the BEST one to me.
I saw in three times in the theater.
I rarely see a film more than once in a theater.
