ATL Hawks are Under Rated

Here is my case for why they are under rated.

I think tonight they just showed the NBA - or at least the Eastern Conference that they have only gotten better and can beat top teams like the Cavs. They snapped the Cavs 11 game streak.

They haven't been healthy with injuries to Josh Smith and Al Horford and have been trying to adjust with the addition of Mike Bibby. I think they may end up becoming the 4 or 5th seed and avoid playing the Celtics. If they play the Pistons, Magic, Raptors or Cavs - I think they may pull of an upset.

Josh Smith & Al Horford are 2 players who will only get better and Mike Bibby adds big time shooting from 3 point land.

Joe Johnson is always scoring points.

They have had 9 losses but almost all of them have been against top teams like the Celts, Spurs, Rockets.

I expect much from this team. Anyone else think they got some potential to do damage in the playoffs - heck they may play the Celtics and pull off an upset.

i DO like that they've played more road games than home games and still have a winning record.

but they also have some disturbing losses like the home/home to the nets and then the loss later to the raptors.

definite improvement over last year at the same time: 11-12

i'm just AMAZED that the hawks are doing so well without that guy josh whats-his-name that went to europe and single-handedly ushered in the demise of the NBA.

I saw that Gibson and Ilgauskas were out for this game, so that may have had something to do with the Hawks winning...Z would've shortened up that reb. differential that had favored the Hawks, and in turn would minimize Atlanta's additional scoring opportunities.

The Hawks have had some early success in the division, but it is early in the season. I'd like to see how they fare against the Magic and Heat (don't sleep on them) during the course of the year.

Even so, they have a shot at doing something in the playoffs no matter where they end up...I got them no higher than a 3 and def. no lower than a 6, and if they are at 6, they can still knock off the 3 seed (looks to be Orlando right now)...

They could be a higher seed by the all-star break so I see a run from them between now and February.

They better not have any long stretches where they fall below .500 or else Woodson will get the axe just like Sam Mitchell and Mo Cheeks

With all the talent they have, Woodson would end up getting axed for sure. Hawks need to play better defense and make foul shots.

They had that Celtics game and blew it in the last 2 mins.
