AT&T raises price of grandfathered unlimited data plans, again

Left Sprint for Verizon and saved maybe $10-25 a month but data is faster and more reliable.

AT&T msg services suck. I can send folks mms standing beside them and they may get it or maybe 20 minutes later.

But I don't fuck with AT&Fee not even if they offered Brazilian pussy with the plan.

AT&T raises price of grandfathered unlimited data plans, again

If you've been on the same unlimited AT&T data plan for years, your bill may be getting more expensive.

AT&T is raising the price of its grandfathered unlimited data plans to $45 per month starting July 2018, according to a company support page and confirmed to CNET (via MacRumors).

These unlimited data plans keep getting more expensive. Even if you snagged an affordable rate years ago, you may still have to pay more. AT&T's unlimited data plans used to be $30 a month in 2015, before it was raised to $35 in 2016, then again to $40 in 2017.

Despite the hike, $45 a month may be your best option on AT&T. Current AT&T unlimited data plans can cost either $65 or $80 a month for one line. It's cheaper if you add more people though, at $160/$190 a month for four lines (that's $40/$48 per line).

AT&T points to "record levels" of data usage as a reason for the price hike. You can read AT&T's statement below:

https://www.techspot.com/news/74979...their-grandfathered-unlimited-data-plans.html

Consumers are using mobile data at record levels and the trend is expected to continue. To help make sure we continue to provide the best service for all of our customers, a small price increase is being made at this time.

Customers who have a grandfathered $40 data plan will receive notifications of a $5 per month rate increase for the data plan. The rate increase will take effect starting with the customer’s July, 2018 service.

I’ve been a customer forever. A few years ago they had a 4 for $100 special. Ive been in this program since. Upgraded something.

Umm.. I can tether at no charge.
Yes they throttle after 23 but everywhere has WiFi these days I never use more than 16/month.
The discounts that I mentioned above are more important to me than going over 23.
Nope, their standard $65 unlimited plan gets no mobile hotspot support. You need to upgrade to the “Unlimited plus enhanced” which starts at )90 and that one gives 15gbs for tethering. Fuck I need HBO for? I just need data to do what it is I need to do. Throttle it after 20gbs, but don’t tell me my data for tethering is different than my data for mobile. 20gbs is 20gbs.

The issue is not people are using more data.

The issue is that America’s telecommunications system is outdated and archaic.

We have a ancient 20th Century telecommunications system still using copper wire layed over 100 years ago.

Also, if you want super discounts from your carrier, you need to stay with the same carrier for a extended period of time.

If you are one of those folks jumping carriers every 6mos or yearly, all you are doing is fucking yourself.

I been with ATT since 1993. I have 3 employee discounts still active from old jobs that add up to $40.
