aye d-town, if you ever come to the funk, there's a place off 7th Street called Bayou Jack's.

My nigga, they had $5 pound crawfish. If you get it, get the voodoo seasoning, and a big cup of their house beer.

that shit is soooooo fucking goooooood...

I ate that shit once, nasty as fuck. Bitter and weird tasting. I can't fuck with that shit.

You ate a crawfish that was dead when it was put in water :smh:.
Crawfish MUST be alive when you get ready for the heat bath.
Give them another try.
And don't forget the melted butter.

Umma give it another try this weekend. How do you eat them and what's the name of the joint again on lville hwy and 285?

I'm just seeing this. A new coworker told me about this place, and she said the wait time is ridiculous too. I said I'm going to try during the week and see if I have better luck.

It's a small spot in a shopping center on the North Dallas/Garland/Richardson border and it had that hole in the wall feel

Asian owned and they make a killing there could get a bigger venue but I think they like it that way

Why does it always have to be the "usual" suspects always saying some negative shit on here?

A lot of angry souls on this here BGOL..... :smh:

Cool, I will definitely try it out. It will have to be on a weekend seeing that I'm all the way in S. Arlington/Mansfield.

Hebert's (a-bears) is a specialty meat market in Maurice, La...bout 8 miles south of Lafayette on US-167 (johnston st).

you can order all kinds of specialty items but you must order the shrimp stuft chicken & the crawfish stuft chicken, the bone-in ribeye & about two cans of their house seasoning. all the items come seasoned & vacuum-packed for shipping.

I've been eating from then since 1989...their food is off the hook; the directions for cooking it is on the packaging.

Man, I'ma HAVE to order sum'n from them. I seen so much shit that I want that I don't even know where to start. All types of dips & stuffed meats.

fuck pappadeaux's. if you like it...fine but don't mistake dat shit for real cajun & creole cooking; the spices are dialed way down.

I figured as much but here in da city it's really all we got in regards to cajun & creole food. Da first restaurant I worked at was cajun/creole cuisine & regarded as one of da best in da city but it a lil' after da "recession" started. :(

:yes::yes::yes:

The Seafood spot not too far from the 285 Exit??

Yes sir!!! Oh, try The Crawfish Shack off of Buford Hwy. Soft shell crab po' boys & a shack-tastic platter for one w/boiled crawfish, mussels, blue crabs & crab legs. Just tried it on Valentine's Day & that shit was good as fuck!!!

But crawfish anything >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shrimp

Man, I'm glad I ain't allergic to seafood. I been eatin' da fuck outta crawfish lately.

Southern Seafood.

On another note, I'ma have to try to make my own boil one day. I know that I can do it & it'll be hittin'. I don't dine on swine so I'll damn sho' be usin' some chicken andouille. I'll find a good beer to pair w/it too.

I've noticed da trend. Both spots I go to are Asian owned. I wonder why that is. At one of da spots they said they go down to N'awlins every weekend to get crawfish to bring back here.

And I'ono, but a few of y'all mentioned butter. Da ones I get so good you don't need nothin' else extra.

I'm in that bitch! Got some mediocre bugs from that Asian owned chain "Cajun Seafood" in da 8th ward off Franklin Ave during Mardi Gras last week...shit was boiled with BROWN SUGAR!!! Nastiest batch I ever had...the Jamaican people we was with loved that shit. Nasty as fuck! Brown sugar my niggas?! Fuck they do that shit at!

Spicy sweet crawfish ain't da move. The turkey necks wasn't boiled in the boil with the bugs, the potatoes looked old as fuck. That is the type of shit they sell to niggas with food stamp cards I guess.
I've been to a Pappadeaux's only once in my life (Atlanta)...great eating...

You must have never ate real Creole or Cajun food from the Gulf Coast...Pappashits is ....shit. :smh:
Bumpkins think that is good food...Copeland's shits on them daily and Copeland's ain't shit either.

btw, fuck pappadeaux's. if you like it...fine but don't mistake dat shit for real cajun & creole cooking; the spices are dialed way down.
This all damn day...nasty ass fusion shit.

GulfCoast-IndexMap.jpg

Bullshit...everybody with roots on the Gulf Coast from Texas to the Florida Panhandle eats Creole/Cajun food...all that shit was French or Spanish at the same time. Culture damn near identical down to foods, Catholic traditions and downtown street names.
New Orleans just gets more shine for having been the capital of the South before Houston and Atlanta came for that ass.

Beware, Chinese buffets...import their shit from China freeze dried. If they tail meat look grey, they was dead before they boiled them. Tail meat should be white with pink stripes. :puke:
