Jones signed over the rights to his archival voice recordings to Respeecher, a Ukraine-based startup that is working with Lucasfilm to preserve and recreate the actor’s menacing voice using a proprietary A.I. algorithm.
They used this tech in Anthony Bourdain's documentary Roadrunner to read some of his texts he made just before he committed suicide. It caused an uproar that the film makers had to address.
I heard about this tech even before I heard about deep fakes. It's going to be interesting to see how it develops in the future.
