^^^ I live in the south and I tell people all the time: hip hop died once it landed here. and I don't want to hear about any artists that came out in the late 80's and early 90's from down south...that was damn near 2 decades ago.

but when it hit down here after master p in the late 90's, it ceased being a legitimate ART FORM with something relevant to say. cmon now..."SLIP N SLIDE WE TAKE IT TO DA HOUSE, TAKE IT TO DA HOUSE, TAKE IT TO DA HOUSE!!!! bullshit like that...

we basically told the world, "let's just have fun with this shit!! stop being all serious!!" and that is the general attitude amongst us in the south, and we put that to our music...
 
Sad thing is, that dumb ass freestyle Spears just kicked was better LYRICALLY than anything Soulja Boy has put down. That's seriously sad.
 
I personally think the young man deserved everything he got out of the one song. people liked it and he sold it well. if he wants to be taken seriously he needs to show some skills.

i dont agree with everybody coming at him but that's how it has always been. cats will try to prove your wackness. all he needs to do is respond with something to shut em up. if he can.

In Soulja Boy's defense, that nigga created a dance that is probably the most popular dance in HISTORY next to the electric slide. AND the nigga created a song to go along with it! For that he deserves major props.

Is the nigga garbage? Of course he is, but that song and dance was a fucking phenomenon like we have never seen.
