Man this is a real nigga podcast. The chat room might as well turn into BGOL Live at times. The goons in the chat are more savage than Corey or Zo could ever be.


I just wish Corey would put the work in to take his shit to the next level. 5150 been back for about 4 years there is no reason the show shouldn't have a phone line.

Corey really is a damn good radio host...like damn good. He actually has convos with his callers and is just a natural born comedian with the shit he says off the top of his head...I'm a big fan of Tariq but Corey is light years better at taking calls as Corey actually talks TO his callers as Tariq talks AT his callers, not to mention I get that preacher /minister vibe from tariq where he talks and hangs up on potentially good callers. And surprisingly 5150 has always drawn better callers than tariq's ustream show

The old 5150 shows on Foxxhole and RMC still holds up pretty well when you listen to them on YouTube.

Tariq is so bad at taking calls that people would ask him NOT to take calls on his Wednesday show. Even old BGOL threads about his Wednesday show would mention whether or not he took calls in the thread title.

His Sunday shows are typically a very good recap of the previous week's events but I can't stand him hanging up on good callers or rushing them off air or spending 20-25 minutes talking to some young female about relationship bullshit.

That irony of that is, we do this shit everyday in life. There are a lot of things we'd want to say to certain people that we do not for one reason or another.

But you better not hold your tongue for a big check. You better not take SHIT for a big opportunity! You can only hold your tongue for free, or to keep your job.

Nobody tells a regular man to go on his job and just say whatever pop into his head. Nobody tell the common man that he shouldn't change some of his less than polished ways while on a job interview. Its encouraged!

But, Lord knows .... you do it for a big pay-day, and niggas will swear you sold your soul to get it.

Ultimately, its all crab-minded thinking.

You can climb high, but you can only do it this way.

But nigga get treated like crap on low-paying jobs and people understand. Yeah they understand, because they're comfortable with the level you're on.

I noticed this some years ago, and it just further confirmed you have to live your own life, because everybody have their own agenda and opinion about what you're doing.

to be fair, Joey the garbage truck worker selling out means nothing to anyone else. An actor with an audience selling out means a lot more. Responsibility is a lot greater with fame. You can do some real damage.

Tariq is better at COMBINING humor and intelligence than zo, with all due respect to zo.

I think he would work well as an occasional guest/host, I don't know how good of a fit he would be as a permanent option though.

The live stream was having technical difficulties near the end of the show. Only the people who were fortunate enough to refresh the stream at the time the shit went down were able to see what actually happened. And I'm sure they weren't thinking about it needing to be captured or recorded at the time.

I think Corey and Zo probably just agreed that it should be left out of the show.

Over the course of my life, I've noticed there has been a tendency for extreme talents to feel entitled to success. If they're that good, then surelu someone should move mountains to put them on.

Then you have guys who may not be as talented, but they KNOW they will have to grind hard as fuck to make it, because they have no such delusion that there talent alone will open doors.
