Henry Cavill In Talks With Marvel To Play Wolverine And We Don’t Know How To Take This

If you happen to peek into social media in the past few days, you’ll surely come across comments that actor Henry Cavill will be Wolverine in the new Marvel Studios movies.

As expected, the news has spread like wildfire. Some say he does not deserve the role, others that it’s “betraying” DC Comics and Warner Bros. because he plays Superman in the DC Cinematic Universe.

The latter does not make sense, because an actor goes where he gets paid. Besides, it’s not like he has something to do for now. His biggest project right is forming part of the cast from The Witcher, playing Geralt of Rivia.

Could Henry Cavill play Wolverine? He is 36 years old, so it is not impossible. But Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, hinted that they do not plan to hire any X-Men for at least five years.

They have several projects that do not require their intervention. Unless they intend to introduce this character before all others, this rumor collapses like a house of cards.

Glen Danzig

what actor is short muscular and hairy today??

Nig from watchmen who played Rorschach to me wouldve been the best choice... His rage, his voice, his intensity , plus his facial expressions would of been perfect... You don't have to necessarily have to show his physique cause us men ain't really caring about all that shit...that crap for broads and fags...nig could be in a dirty as s trench coat for all I care... Juss show the rage, him stabbing and slicing s hit up, some movie magic for agility moments... Like I said matrix look would be a perfect view of how an x men project look... Juss imagine an unmasked Rorschach with claws in a matrix environment... Have that slow rain effect and military nigs coming for him and he juss go apeshit

I never had a problem with them making him taller.

I just want a writer that really understand the true feral nature and an actor that can lose it.

Why the fuck would Cavill go for that roll when he could be making a mint staying as Superman? Doesn't make sense. And I'm also tired of the same actors taking on all the different Marvel/DC roles. Get some new blood.

And yeah, Logan should be shorter. Maybe not 5'3" short but under 6' and more muscular.

we'll never a short wolverine
it doesn't fit big screen aesthetic the tall hero (although his size was a key part of his character)

in Hollywood there are a shitload of actors (tom cruise, Vince diesel, Robert Downey jr.) who are short but they go out of their to depict them as larger than life

growing up I wanted Clint Eastwood to play him...so what do I know

Bro!! I thought I was the only one! Clint Eastwood smoking a cheroot squinting and grimacing looks just like Logan! He just too damn tall. But he Def could have been nick fury too. He would have been the best original nick fury ever.

Back in the 90s when James Cameron was rumored to direct Xmen, everybody was hoping Deniro would get the gig. Cape Fear proved he could do it but he was gettin up in age already. Everybody thought Danzig would be perfect but he started believin his own hype. Ran up on a guy backstage at a concert and got knocked da fuck out...one punch. He was tryin to bully a guy bigger than him cuz he figured everybody feared him...sheeeeeeeeeeeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitttttttttttt.

Don't think even Marvel would go for him short but hey, it's Marvel. Thing about Wolverine he fucked every bitch in the Xmen over the years. Mufucka was a true playa.

IMO what they really should do - cast the next Wolverine from a martial artist out of Thailand Japan or Indonesia

The Raid guys have a white boy that 6' - maybe they can develop someone shorter

Yall should know better by now than to believe every stupid casting rumor out there. Henry Cavill IS NOT in talks to play Wolverine. Marvel studios isn't currently casting for any X-Men movies. They just got the rights back to X-Men & Fanstastic Four thanks to that fox merger bullshit. It will be a while before we see their version of those characters. Hell, there are still two shitty fox x-movies that are supposed to come out.

As for if Wolverine will ever be short...it's possible. Most actors in hollyweird are short as fuck. If they don't make the mistake of making Logan the focus of the movies like fox did and instead really make the X-Men movies about the team, then we might get a more accurate version. Also, there would be absolutely no point in cgi-ing an actor to look short when they could just cast appropriately.

DC projects are in shambles right now at Warner and it was rumored late last year that Cavill had been fired/let go from Superman.

Yeah Marvel got to let the stench of Jennifer Lawrence and Sansa wear off first...

Marvel not going to rush shit just because fans are begging...

I rather for them to lay the groundwork with how and what are Mutants with Eternals and possibly introducting Namor as the first Mutant... as in comics...

the irony in all this is....there's a lot of male actors...who are currently stars...who are well under 6 feet tall...

some of them..even have to stand on boxes in the scene...just so they can be taller than their female counterpart....

Stallone, Cruise... they some fuckin midgets

Yea in the higher 5 feet range but no 5'3 Wolverine. And he does need to be more feral. But that depends on the writers. I liked Hugh. He has the acting chops to pull off any version that is needed. He just worked with what they gave him. There were moments but not fully gruff and wild.
