To make them work and make them "good" do they really take work on both ends? or should it just be easy and effortless?

Sis to make anything worthwhile work it takes effort. It takes a willingness to grow. If it were easy life would be boring don't you think?

*looks around*
You dead ass? lol

That shit is WORK. I mean like working at McDonald's work..... You gotta cook fries and flip burgers but you can go home with a happy meal at the end of the day. lol:yes:

I wouldn't know ... I haven't been able to maintain a long healthy relationship ... cuz I always give up on their lame asses ... wait ... hold on ... now I get it ... I was supposed to work to make it work ... oooooooh oooooook ... well ... now I know for next time:D

lol dont want you givin the toast at my wedding!

I see you, look though...

The work is work, Relationships are like a job in your dream profession...you have to punch a clock, but it makes your mouth water to do it....but sometimes you get with someone, and y'all signs ain't aligned, y'all stars ain't in order, the grass might be greener on the other side, ARE you getting what I'M SAYING...?

Some relationships are not going to get any better because, shit, those two people are heading in opposite directions, and THEY both need to find that ticket to a higher ground...

Recipe

Communication
Honesty
Trust
Loyalty
Genuinely liking the others personality
Attraction needs to be strong
Adaptability

and a whole lot of love and hard work:)

co-sign with everything on this thread. The main thing you *have* to realize before you dive into that 'hard work' though, is that it takes TWO. If one gives 30% and the other gives 70%, then it's dead in the water. One can't compensate for the other. If both parties have the strength to make it work, then it will.

Good luck.

so tru.

and that just just leaves the party who is investing the 70% drained from compensating for the other person.

Letting go--an essential emotional tool for sure.

It's a full time job.

Compromising, accepting somebody for what they really are.

Not firing off on somebody.

Her attitude.

Trusting her.

Not fucking other women.

Once again, it's a full time job.

:yes::yes:Relationships are extremely hard. To be honest, I believe that's why a lot of people aren't in them today. Don't get me wrong...I'm not saying let someone treat you like shit just to say you got a boyfriend. We all can do bad by ourselves!!! Remember, compromise is very important, and the GOLDEN RULE always applies!:yes::yes:
