Tim Cook just posted the above letter on Apple’s homepage to pay tribute to the company’s late cofounder, Steve Jobs.
Today is the one-year anniversary of Jobs’ death, so Apple updated its front page with a video montage of Jobs in remembrance of his life and passing. The video features pictures and quotes from Jobs during his time as Apple’s CEO and it ends with the following brief message: “His spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
A letter from Apple’s current CEO appears after the video concludes. In the letter, Cook describes Jobs’ death as a “sad and difficult time”. The executive hopes, however, that everyone will “reflect on [Jobs'] extraordinary life and the many ways he made the world a better place.” A screenshot of Cook’s entire letter is above, while a text version is available after the break.
Jobs died Oct. 5, 2011 at just 56 years old, and millions of people immediately emailed Apple when news of his death flooded the Internet, TV, newspapers, and homes. The company subsequently created a “Remembering Steve” page to display the massive compilation of condolence messages it received from around the world.
The video and screenshot gallery of the homepage is below:

i read in newsweek that over the last few years the us has invested

5 billion in cancer research

and something like 200 billion in war in the middle east

imagine if those numbers were flip flopped.

we'd have the troops home and most likely woulda cured cancer and other deadly diseases by now.

of course...theres no money in cures...only in treatment.

think about that next time ur eating that supersize extra value meal or smoking a newport.
