Anyone know about Choice Home Warranty

Trying to get info for my mother, she has a fairly big home and she got a quote from https://www.choicehomewarranty.com/ in the mail for about 400.00 annually to cover Heating and cooling, refrigerators(she has 2 and a deep freezer), washer and dryer, ceiling fans etc.. They just don't cover TVs and other similar electronics, but she has DirecTV for that. Sounds like some shit you get and later when you need them, they'll show you everything the won't cover. I've done reading up on reviews, but just wondering if anyone has used or know anything better.

I had RS Andrews but I only made one service call.
They did a good job.
I will see what service my brother uses.
His charges $100 per service call.

I got choice, I pay $45 a month and $45 for service calls but they dont cover water heaters. Sometimes they send some shady ass clowns to give service but nothing ever happened and if the job aint right they will send someone else. Also they paid for a new mircowave for my broken one.

Oh thats cool, as long as they get it right..Sounds legit then..

I had AHS. https://www.ahs.com/ Paid $45 a month AC broke one summer was $3000. Paid my fee of I think it was $60 for them to come out and them MFs replaced the whole unit. In ref to your moms a lil side note. If the freezer is not in the kitchen they might trip. Mine was an industrial freezer that I had in the garage. Luckily the guy that came was like fuck it Ill tell them its in your kitchen.

American Home Shield will cover everything.

Seller paid for AHS warranty when I bought my house in '08. It was 2 years old at the time (now 11) and came with appliances.

Year 1 the fridge had some issues and I had 3 calls. They replaced a control board and icemaker which probably would've cost $200-400 each

Year 3 (2010) the AC compressor went out which probably would've cost $1k. Didn't renew after that year and have only had a garbage disposal and ceiling fan go out in the last 6+ years. Replaced them myself

They were pretty good and charged $60 per service call

Mom's Had the AHS, they replaced her AC unit in hot humid ass Houston Texas. I have the direct tv shit, they replaced an old 7 year old lcd tv that I had that went out, gave me a check, shit came in handy

What's the cost per yr

Read the fine print......I've heard nightmare stories about shit that you THOUGHT...would be covered....only to find out it ain't !!!!!!! Particularly labor !!!

.

AHS is janky as shit. They will look for any loophole not to cover your shit if they don't have to. I know one of the managers down there in their call center and she always tells me about how they fuck people over. A lot of the contractors they use for repairs are the lowest of the low lol

Same as any insurance company... Don't trust any of them.

We have choice now. Been unsatisfied since we signed up. Always a reason why they ain't paying for this or don't cover that. Preferred old republic. No issues with them at all.

I have AHS, as others have said they are decent. I've had both good and bad experiences with their services. I pay $75. per service call. My biggest gripe is the lead time for service. I had to wait 5 days in FL summer heat, for an A/C service tech to come out. On the other hand, I've had a washer and microwave replaced on their dime, as well as service calls for my stove and refrigerator, all done without incident. In my experiences it all comes down to the service provider they send to your house. They are hit or miss, when it comes to the tech's knowledge and trouble shooting skills. Overall I think warranties are a sound investment.

Hey fam how long did you have the warranty before they replaced your unit?

I originally had the service prob just a few months. I knew it was going out but my dumb ass had missed a few payments and my service lapsed so I called and made the payment and got it turned back on. Then a nigga burnt up for a bout a couple weeks and called to play that shit off. I know, nigga shit. lol

^ I feel you. My system goes out and I have to put Freon in it at least twice every summer. I got the hookup in my subdivision, but I know eventually my leak will be too big to keep doing that shit.
