All I can really tell you is to be careful with that part of the island. It is the less wealthier part of the island and the busier part of the island. I would stay in a resort and/or on the St. Martin side. Didn't really fuck around with the chics (brought sand to the beach) but there was some good looking women (native/foreigners).

Have vacationed on both Dutch, French side and neighboring islands...great times if planned well. Personally prefer villas but resorts are nice as well. Only resort i've experienced on the island is the Westin (Dutch side i believe).
