Question for the board - I just purchase shares of $SCDH Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF (NYSEARCA: SCHD). Is it best to hold in a regular brokerage account or add to my ROTH IRA? I read somewhere if its in your ROTH, the dividends will grow tax free vs. in a regular brokerage account.

I think it can work well in either type of account depending on what you plan to do with the dividends (use as income or re-invest them for compounding).
But you're right: generally it seems like a good fund for a Roth IRA. I don't recall paying taxes on any of the dividends generated from the divvy-paying holdings in my Roth (VTI, VXUS, CVS, INTC). I DO reinvest them though.

Someone else check me if I'm mistaken.

Thanks for the feedback. Yup I am definitely reinvesting the dividends for sure.

I DCA this one ($SCHD) and reinvest the dividends.

****Edit***
Trying to read the tech earnings tea leaves this evening. $MSFT's Azure in particular.

Welp, I'll be looking to see what $INTC says tomorrow. Lots of folks already down on the previews.

That $MSFT drop in windows oem doesn't look good on the consumer side for $INTC or $AMD. $INTC new server chip wont help revenue as it will only impact the current quarter going forward. Even then, stiff comp from $AMD (and ARM).

where do you think the bottom will be for Intel? below $20

I mean, I never thought I'd see below $30. Below $20 with that dividend...wow. I don't think the US will let intel fail...a homegrown, multi billion dollar US biz. They have to hit on their manufacturing which to put it mildly is ambitious. These next 2 quarters will be rough, so look for your low in the next 6 months. Then, it's a matter of whether shareholders think INTC can right the ship. If the dividend gets cut... All bets are off.

Should I buy if it drops below $23?

If you're holding for the dividend, sure. If you think that INTC rights the ship and are looking for the stock price to climb, just know that they're in the process of trying to reclaim their dominance (even though they already dominate the CPU landscape). All-time closing high was around $65.

The CEO mentions that 2025, INTC will be in a position of leadership. Whether or not that happens remains to be seen. It'll be interesting to see if their foundry service succeeds. Taking on $TSM will be tough, but honestly, they just need to snatch any market share from both TSM and Samsung.

To add to what @Aww Skeet Skeet! said, here are the levels according to the volume profile. The (approximate) lines in the sand you want to pay attention to are in white. If buyers don't hold them, it could drop to the next line below. The highest concentration of buyers are at 0.94.

AUVI made a 60% gain in the last few days with more gains believed to come in the following week. Right now it is at $1.60 and I got in at $1.01.

I sold when it went up to around $1.85. It should get to $2 though.
That volume on Friday was crazy. Almost 76 million. 3,492% higher than its average.

  • Applied UV, Inc. (NASDAQ:AUVI) gained 46.1% to $1.52 after the company announced that it has engaged a legal counsel to investigate potential illegal short selling of its stock.
