Anybody up on 52 blocks

So can you put some credibility to this? I like researching things for better understanding and not hearing as these mystery tales of dudes trying be more than what they are.
Very credible. It's the same with any art you practice and you have heart when you fight . You can fight 2 guys that trained the same amount of time in the same art but one will be a fighter and one will try to survive.

Grew up with 5%'er heads up in Ebbets Fields and Fort Greene in Brooklyn who used to do it. Showed me it back then. Never learned it but them dudes would use with with shanks and was nothing to fuck with. I remember one dude got cut up once so many times, back when heads used to spit razors.

Not even about if it's effective or not, but when you using that and surprise someone with the swiftness, it's nothing to fuck wit. Them dudes I knew all did time.

Yeah that jailhouse rock
A NY dude showed me how to hide the razor in my cheek to sneak in the club

That’s cute and all but if you’re close enough to throw an elbow you’re close enough to get one back
He leaves himself way too open
I’m not gonna front he’s only moving that slow to show the moves. He catch someone with the first two they not throwing anything back

His face is WIDE OPEN

Plus anyone that bridges or frames has a good chance of breaking his arms
In catch, krav, other real self defense systems, etc they teach you to prepare for that
Speed is cool,I understand that, but he’s going to sleep with broken arms

@dik cashmere not trying be “that guy” but imo the system is good but leaves too many openings
I can twin tusk and crash down on him, cinch to a head butt, change levels for a take down or run the pipe, etc
Me and @cap213 was talking about this the other day
There’s no perfect system but some have been given mythical effects that create issues and aren’t feasible in a real fight
For Instance, bjj is cool but you get on a street fight and go to the ground trying “transition” and you wind up getting The Shit kicked out if you
Plus I do catch, so it’s easy to disengage and break something

You absolutely have a point

The 52 has a lot of variables but it’s not a perfect fighting style. They’re plenty of flaws in it

I’ve seen masters of it win big and lose just as big

Like any fight it’s who you’re up against and their skill level

I recently saw a 5th degree black belt in karate get the brakes beat off him by an og who was out of shape but still has muscle memory

@nawlinsn931 I agree on the diversity of techniques. I haven't been following this thread but was reading a bit to catch up. I think most things have worth to the person employing them. There is no perfect system just the more trained you are the less any particular system will work for or against you. I think everyone at a certain level has to create or find their own system from all the things they have learned based off their preferred style. I prefer more hapkido style systems as that is my formal training besides some grappling to learn to escape things and kung fu because I wanted to be bruce leroy :lol2:

There is a saying speed conquers all....until you meet a damn wall then your speed does fuck all. I consider myself a mostly complete or at least competent fighter and know you have to have multiple different ways to defend and attack or else once your singlular style fails you're fucked.
