Anybody here read 'PIMP' by Iceberg Slim?

I found it interesting he died broke and alone. He had diabetes and the book publishing company "pimped" him(ironic). His common law wife said he didn't take his book contracts to a lawyer and trusted the publishing company to look out for his best interest.

Personally I just don't have the patience that I used to. Between podcasts and other long forms of audio that can be downloaded into a pocket sized device, plus the fact that I travel a lot using public transit I have been spoiled and it's difficult to read shit now. I used to love reading, long and short reads but once I got spoiled, it's hard to go back.

what some dudes dont realize, is its a game of wits. yours verse hers. most females are born to outwit males, its layed out for them already. the biggest "trick" a female ever pulled was making the male believe she was giving him some pussy when the female term is referred to as a receptacle.

Yea I read all of em years ago. It was pretty wild. I forgot the one book where the pimp was tricked by his ho and she stole his money and he went crazy saying "funky ass bitch" lmao:lol::lol::lol: It may have been a book by Donald Goines like I said I read all of them years ago. Every...last...one.:eek:
 
Reading it now, i thought i had read it along time ago but seems i confused this with another book. Pretty interesting read

yeah but no matter how dark, he left an incredible legacy of himself. that book was written 40 years ago and has yet to lose its popularity, and whether people like it or not that book will always be seeked, like any other timeless books like the art of war. (a countries bible) these might be considered street bibles

No doubt. I mentioned that because I found it interesting that in the end the master pimp ended up getting pimped.

That wasn't a hermaphrodite that was a tranny. It was fucked up tho that on at least two occassions in the book he thought back on it saying he should've have pimped the tranny:smh::smh:
 
Another thing i noticed in the book regarding whores and tricks. I remember there was a thread on here where some guys were saying pimps didn't like their hoes messing with black tricks and other were saying they didn't care. In the book he's saying that the white tricks were just looking for a quick nut and then go on about their business, whereas the black tricks were mostly broke bullshitters and would try to "make a home" in the pussy:lol:. Also seems that it was mostly black tricks were the ones "squaring" the whores up:smh:

i thought it was a chick born w/ a dick. a genetic fuck up... not a man. i think of trannies as men who dress up like women.

i guess tranny is the umbrella term to cover all of that fuckery.
 
Pimp was a good read. Also read some of slim's other books. Trick baby (Sequel), Doom Fox and The Long White Con (Best of the lot in my opinion)

came to, although it was 20something
years too late.
