LOL at "Calorie Restriction". Every MD and DO on earth will tell you to cut back on calories. What the hell are you talking about? Also who the hell eats 6-8 meals a day? Okinawans don't eat "Less" they eat Healthier. Big difference.

Do some research on the practice of calorie restriction with optimal nutrition(CRON) and the benefits of it. 5-7, 6-8 mini meals a day is what dr's are pushing these days... do you read much?

1800.00 is the recommended intake for a 180 pound man. Depending on what you do during the day calories can be good for your body. You must sit on your ass all day. Because to people who actually work out and are active, they need a decent amount of calorie intake.

Also stop grouping all doctors together. I don't give a fuck that you read an article from some random MD claiming that he recommends 6-8 mini meals a day. The fuck does that have to do with the general doctor recommendation? You also can eat 6-8 "Mini Meals" if they are vegetables/grain and fruit based.

what is the "general doctor recommendation"?

I play basketball 2-3 hrs a day, 6 days a week... guess what, some days I dont eat anything:eek::eek::eek: and Im still alive, and never felt better and my blood work hasnt been better.

Read "good calories, bad calories" by Gary taubes... one of his arguments is that the number of calories doesnt even matter, its the quality of calories that matter. Why can people on a low carb diet eat more calories than people eating fewer calories, and still lose fat? Maybe (I dont know, but hes convincing) calories are not that important. But you keep preaching that "conventional wisdom".:lol: Remember when saturated fat was the devil? My daughter's doctor was just telling me not to give her lowfat milk because they need saturated fat for brain development. I ask him how much they need... his answer "we dont know, yet"
 
How does that indicate anything good? That is the defense your body puts up. Just like when you get shot you hardly feel it because the adrenaline and endorphins your body produces to suppress pain during major trauma. It doesn't mean getting shot is ok. It just means your body is doing what it needs to do to survive. As in storing fat in order to keep you from starving to death.


It is good from the stand point that you can use this defense mechanism, under controlled situations, to accomplish your goals.


 
Then Gain it it all back as soon as you stop for one day. Yeah real healthy.

True if you go back to the way you WERE eating(typical american diet) and do not exercise, but if you use it as a part of a lifestyle change you will be ok.

Coming from a nigga who gets his health 411 from Blogs and Web sites ran by non MD's. Ok.

The one link I posted was reviewed by one of your mighty doctors and the research was surely done by doctors. My health info comes from various sources... there are numerous doctors that advocate fasting/calorie restriction/alternate day fasting and so on.

The western wise men used to all think the world was flat... the consensus is not always correct.
