Anthony Bennett.. possibly the worst #1 pick since Candyman?

Did I say he was going to be a great pro
Lets not bullshit each other bro. You implied that he was a great player and compared him to NBA greats. I expressed surprise that he broke the assist record and you and others said and insinuated he was the best acc pg ever/best passer ever. I told you the guy was grossly overrated and benefited from playing in a shitty ACC. Said he was slow, couldnt score, and was one dimensional. You disputed it all and said something to the effect of me thinking i knew better than the NBA scouts.

A good college player, yes

Did I say he was going to be great in the NBA? So why did you bring him up?

He would be good in the ACC regardless of when he played, just like Ed Cota or Derrick Phelps.

Charles Barkley was or is listed at 6'5 & was considered a tweener even before they was such a word and look how his career turned out.

You need about 3 yrs of assessment to be considered an official bust especially when he's not the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or even 4th scoring option. From what I can see no plays are being run for or through him, so his stats that you posted are gonna reflect that. Some players take time to develop or come into their own as a player more than others. Tracey Macgrady took time to develop. No one knew coming outta high school he was gonna be as good as he was in his prime (or before the chronic injuries took over). When I was in Toronto at the time I even questioned the logic of that pick when the dude was unproven. There are a lot of players you can say the same thing about where when they first came into the league, where intially they didn't set the league or world on fire with their play on the court. That happened years after when they developed and learned to play the game.

Everything is a gamble when drafting players, there is no such thing as "guarantee or sure thing" and for every superstar whether past or present ( MJ, Magic, Malone, Durant, Kobe etc etc) there was no way to predict they would have had hall of fame careers when they first entered the league. U need about 3 years to determine what the ceiling for this kid is as to how good he is or can be. U'r not gonna get that kind of assessment in the first couple games.

Shit like this is why I have no issues with the NBA making players wait one year to be eligible. Hell I wouldn't even mind up to 3 years. Go overseas or to the d league and polish your game if you don't wanna go to college. The point of the lottery is to make bum ass teams better the next year. Looks like the Cavs will have a handful of ping pong balls next year too.

extra years in college does nothing that time in the pros wont do

No he wouldnt have. And i clearly articulated why in the thread where we went back and forth. I wont rehash the shit but i only brought it up to note some recent predictions, discussions and projections we had. The guy is out of the fucking league for the exact reasons i specified. He will get a bench gig because of his unc pedigree, but he was grossly overrated in a shit acc. Period.

Hes not the first 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th, scoring option because he sucks, not because the team has other options. Are we forgetting this was the worst team in the league last year. The guy sucks. It was a terrible pick on draft day and its even worse today. Theres really no need to make this complicated, the guy is bad and his size and skillset are not such that he will ever live up to the #1 overall picks expectations. Feel free to come with the "its too early" tripe all you want, but some shit is just apparent early on. He sucks.

Not one team in the league with the #1 pick evaluates that pick based on a 3 year project!

That being said, and laughed at, I am not saying Dude will not be a decent pro, I'm saying, he is not a #1 talent!! No more no less, and the hushed tones after the Cavs made this dumb ass pick at #1 solidifies that everyone in the common basketball world except You and Complex feels the same way...

'Drafting a #1 pick based on a 3 year project!...

Even if it doesn't work out we're still better than the Sixers.

And I am extremely glad about that (even though we split the past two games, and we put foot in your asses in one, and you squeaked by in the other ) AND your prized #1 plc contributed 0.0000001 points per game in the two games!!

Best believe we won't be taking no 3 year projects with our pick next year!! Shit, we've got a player with MUCH more upside this year at 11 than you did at #1!

 Ok, and I've seen Evan play over 200 times so far in his career and anyone with any knowledge of him, the Sixers or his game knows it was totally and completely on Collins. Even players within the organization talked about how Collins rode him behind closed doors so... Believe what you want to believe Sir. Obviously you haven't seen the completely different player Turner has become with Collins gone...

always wondered why he struggles he was nice in college

Speaking of changing tunes, hows Kendall Marshall doing?

:lol::lol::lol: thats cold,,,,,i dont know why he cant get any burn

Anybody who has seen him so far this season, knows he is a completely different player! A coach on your ass can fuck up you confidence (maybe Mike Brown is being too hard on Bennett :hmm: )

This season, with the keys to the kingdom in his hand, he's continually pitting up great numbers, and not looking over his should at the bench whenever he makes a mistake, and that's a big difference in how freely he is playing.

Mike Brown is going to ruin Bennett's career before it can begin. Kyrie should be progressing, not regressing, so it's pretty much a given that a rookie is going to have a hard time dealing with the incompetence of Mike Brown.
