Well, here me out on this.
Do you realize that the out of wedlock birth rate in the black community was on around 17% in 1950s? See, people wanna keep distracting us talking about slavery broke up the family when the family was in tact much more so in the 50s & 60s than it is now (70% out of wedlock birth rate currently).
Contrary to popular belief, that problems we're seeing now are a RECENT phenomenon.
What happened was socialism aka social programs aka the welfare state. And to be honest, it wasn't an intentional or malicious thing. Politicians, (like with the housing crisis that people are trying to blame on wall street instead of the real culprit... the US Congress) just don't know what the fuck they're doing half the time even when they mean well.
Trying to address a rising out of wedlock birth rate in the black community (it had gotten as high as 25% before the government tried to address it in the 1960s - check the Moniyhan report) they implemented the welfare programs & the rest is history.
What politicians thought was if men were increasing their abandonment of their children, we need to help these women out. Well ok, that's a admirable thing to do. However, it never occurred to them that this wouldn't stop the real problem which is men abandoning their kids & it created a new problem of women purposely & collecting a check by having children & not having to work for it.
Think about it. If you got a son or daughter at home and they're say 18-21 years old, why the fuck would they leave if they can get free housing, food, cable, internet, transportation, etc? If you don't either put them out or give them incentive to leave, why the fuck would they leave? It's the same with welfare. If you can eat everyday, why the fuck would you try to get better? Why go to school or try to get a better job?
The government still doesn't understand that you can't give people incentives to be
lazy & unproductive because people won't do sh!t if they can eat & live for free. We all know folx who are 2nd or 3rd generation welfare/WIC recipients.
You can't fix problems that require people to behave in a certain manner by trying to give them something. Nothing can fix men raising their children except men ACTUALLY doing their job. Nothing can fix women raising their children accept women ACTUALLY doing their job. You can pump all the money you want into inner city schools but if black kids don't study as much as other kids, nothing will change. You can't fix crime in the inner cities with a bunch of money & programs if ngaz won't stop shooting each other & go to school.
We gotta understand individual behavior has to change to get better results.
The fix isn't external. It's internal to the community & each individual who lives within it.
