Sad ending.

Aniah Blanchard was found in a wooded area after nearly a month. The cause of death was a gunshot wound (unclear to what part of the body, however). The judge also ordered DNA testing, as male DNA was found in her abandoned car.

This seems pretty straight forward - dude was a hardcore criminal, saw an attractive girl and decided to rape and murder her. I don't think it was complex or a set-up at all - just a crime of opportunity. Wrong convenience store, wrong scumbag, wrong time.

Regardless, I can't imagine the pain those families are going through (mother's and father's sides).

Anyone else notice how the media kept referring to her step-father, as if she didn't have a relationship w/ her Pops? Shit came across as mad disrespectful and if you google her name, you'll find 10x the number of pics w/ the step Dad. I'm guessing it was due to his celebrity status, but her birth father was barely recognized in the media, and it appears they had a good relationship.

I hope they torture this piece of shit before he faces death.
I wish they had dotted his other eye as well when they apprehended this human gargoyle.

Unfortunately a similar type of crime occured in Chicago a week ago where a 19 year old student was raped and murdered by a soulless monster who can't take rejection.

A University of Illinois at Chicago student who was found strangled in her car Saturday was murdered because she ignored her alleged killer's advances, according to prosecutors.

Ruth George, 19, was found unresponsive in her family's car parked inside the Halsted Street Parking Garage and an autopsy determined she died of strangulation. The suspect, 26-year-old Donald Thurman, was arrested the following day in connection with her death.

Thurman was charged with first-degree murder and criminal sexual assault in George's death.
Prosecutors told a judge during a hearing on Tuesday that he confessed to the attack, and supposedly admitted he was angry that George ignored his catcalls.
"The defendant was angry that he was being ignored. The defendant came up behind the victim, grabbed her around the neck from behind, and put her into a chokehold," Cook County Asst. State's Attorney James Murphy said. "With his arms still wrapped around the victim's neck the defendant dragged the victim from the ground and he opened her back seat car door."

Thurman allegedly then sexually assaulted George before killing her.
George's body was found Saturday morning in the school parking garage.
Her family reported her missing to campus police after they hadn't heard from her since Friday night.

“It was just really shocking and I feel like I talked about it so many times today about how it’s so unfair that you can't feel safe on campus,” Shade Idowe, a student at the Chicago campus, told the Chicago Sun-Times. Another student, Vakrand Sharma, added: “A lot of robbery and theft, I’ve seen that happening. But never a murder."

Thurman, who was on parole at the time of the attack after serving two years of a six-year prison sentence for armed robbery, has no connection to UIC and didn't know George, police said. He was ordered held without bail during his hearing this week.

This is why you have to give them some type of weapon for defense against these predators to give them a semi fighting chance... Spray, tazer, knife, depending state a gun, something flammable... That's for mothers, sisters, daughters, aunts, cousins, significant others

A heavyweight matchup between Alistair Overeem and Walt Harris has been rescheduled.
Overeem (45-17 MMA, 10-6 UFC) will take on Harris (13-7 MMA, 6-6 UFC) in the UFC on ESPN+ 30 main event April 11 at Moda Center in Portland, Ore., the promotion announced Saturday.
The card will stream on ESPN+.
The pair initially was scheduled to headline UFC on ESPN 7 last December in Washington D.C., but Harris withdrew from the fight after the disappearance of his stepdaughter, Aniah Blanchard, who was later found murdered after a one-month search.
Jairzinho Rozenstruik stepped in to replace Harris and scored a comeback knockout victory over Overeem with just four seconds remaining in the fight. Prior to that, Overeem had notched back-to-back finishes over Sergey Pavlovich and Aleksei Oleinik.
Harris’ last win also came over Oleinik, when he stopped the Russian in just 12 seconds at UFC on ESPN 4 last July. It was his third win in a row.
The current UFC on ESPN+ 30 lineup includes:
  • Walt Harris vs. Alistair Overeem
  • Randy Brown vs. Vicente Luque
  • Carla Esparza vs. Michelle Waterson
  • Tristan Connelly vs. Alex Silva
  • Don’Tale Mayes vs. Rodrigo Nascimento
  • Alessio Di Chiricio vs. Markus Perez
  • Julia Avila vs. Karol Rosa

I always thought it was crazy how the media focused on Walt Harris being her step-dad, when she had an actual father in her life. They completely overlook her biological father and it's extremely disrespectful IMO. He's been in 1-2 interviews, but the bulk of them are led by Walt Harris. That has to be painful for him. :smh:
