Wesley Snipes Passenger 57...I think he was specifically a security specialist so maybe doesn't qualify here but that was a landmark movie at the time. Black man outsmarting both the White cops And White bad guys.

i'd like to do a write in for Del Roy Lindo in ransom..

I vote for eddie becuz he had to come the farthest to play the role. He' primarily known as a comedian and Metro was the first non comedic more dramatic role he played before dream girls. Sam and denzel can do those roles in their sleep but eddie took a leap.

Metro is so underrated. Easily one of Eddie's best movies IMHO.

:yes::yes::yes:

yeah if he could have done that instead of beverly hills cop3 it probably would have held off him falling off around that time:yes:

yes, I was a big fan of Metro. I saw it when it came out. really solid movie. I especially love the part where the white boy pointed out all of the shooters in the fake store.

the reason Eddie Murphy fell off is I imagine largely in part to his remarks at the Oscars in 88. Why people don't like to be told about their bullshit, and if they have the opportunity they will bury you, even if it cost them money doing so. white people are king of cutting off their nose to spite their face to make a point.

I heard it said about that time that Eddie Murphy was getting too big for his britches. coming to America was a comedic classic, and yet it was panned by damn near every media outlet. Harlem Nights was the same way, panned by damn near every media outlet, and Eddie Murphy wrote and directed it. both are movies that thousands of people can quote entire lines, and watch at anytime, any year. white people in charge, they were determined to push him off of a cliff career wise

wow...I was gonna skip metro yet again bcuz of the low rating...then I looked up coming to america and harlem nights on IMDB after reading your comments and seen they received low ratings too...an absolute shame...def watching metro tonite
