i watched that movie today...it was so long. Anyway all those kingpin stories end the same, they snitch to save their ass some jail time. Cause they're usually in jail cause someone snitched on them!

I think people support the stop snitching movement cause they dont want anybody to snitch on them. but i bet when they get behind them walls looking at 20 years and them crackers say we will reduce your time if you tell who killed who or who shipping what that man going to be pointing out the whole hood. nobody want to sit in a cell for 20 years no matter how gangsta they is :smh:

Yeah the cat was facing 70 years!!! And he took out the oppressor!!! Shit was looking crazy for Frank!

I don't know who this guy is, but if he "snitched" in order to lessen his time behind bars, he did the right damn thing. Shit, let it come down to you or me and see who I choose.

Dam he was Alpo and Nicky barnes times 10 in the snotching DEPARTMENT Dam he told on so many people I thought he said my name! and 30 members of his family got locked up also!

Damn.... That's the thing I don't understand about snitching though, I can see how the bottom tier guy can snitch and get away, but you can't be the damn leader of an organization and snitch and get away... Cutting off the tail of a snake and leaving the head does nothing..

he snicthed on dirty cops.....fuck em.
as long as he didnt snicth on his brothas to shorting his time.....then its kool

Hollywood's latest bid at twisting facts to make a story bankable...As in, based on a true story...not a documentary... ;)

He snitched on 100 cops and 100 of his peeps! Lot of brothers are real men and look the oppressor in the face and accept their consequences with no regrets. What would you do if faced with the same situation. I stayed out of the game to not have to answer that question.

Here's the article that inspired the movie.

Here's the begining of the article.

The Return of Superfly
Frank Lucas, once the city's biggest, baddest heroin kingpin the original O.G. in chinchilla, now seems like just a very likable guy. But don't be fooled.
By Mark Jacobson

During the early seventies, when for a sable-coat-wearing, Superfly-strutting instant of urban time he was perhaps the biggest heroin dealer in Harlem, Frank Lucas would sit at the corner of 116th Street and Eighth Avenue in a beat-up Chevrolet he called Nellybelle. Then living in a suite at the Regency Hotel with 100 custom-made, multi-hued suits in the closet, Lucas owned several cars. He had a Rolls, a Mercedes, a Corvette Sting Ray, and a 427 muscle job he'd once topped out at 160 mph near Exit 16E of the Jersey Turnpike, scaring himself so silly that he gave the car to his brother's wife just to get it out of his sight.

But for "spying," Nellybelle was best.

"Who'd think I'd be in a shit $300 car like that?" asks Lucas, who claims he'd clear up to $1 million a day selling dope on 116th Street.

"One-sixteenth Street between Seventh and Eighth Avenue was mine. I bought it. I ran it. I owned it," Lucas says. "When something is yours, you've got to be Johnny-on-the-spot, ready to take it to the top. So I'd sit in Nellybelle by the Roman Garden Bar, cap pulled down, with a fake beard, dark glasses, long wig . . . I'd be up beside people dealing my stuff, and no one knew who I was . . ."

Yeah I peeped that part in the movie. But what got me was he was flashy until his wife brought him that fur.I think if it wasn't for the fur, he definitely would of been under the radar!!

snitching is the most misused and over used word in the modern language. alot of people dont know the true definition of it but misuse the syht out of it.

ima break it down....

snitching is when u dropp a dime on somebody you know, somebody you're associated with or affiliated with. if u drop a dime on a unknown nigga you dont know or never seen in your lifeITS NOT CONSIDERED SNITCHING.

people got to stop acting like they own people syht and get their facts straight about snitching.bullsyht ass code of the streets :smh: .

Actually I do know of a case here in NY a few years ago where they busted the big guy and let him keep working and were busting all the people under him one by one. All the smaller people ended up doing time and he didn't. So don't fool yourself they can do it any way they wanna.

They do it all the time. That's why Whitey Bulger is walking free.

He implicated the cops. That shit cant even be considered snitching because cops are the ones that you snitch TO. They rely on snitches to make their cases (as was the case in this movie), but he surpassed all that bullshit and brought down the police themselves. That's not snitching to me.

"Oh, Im not fuckin wit him, he got them crooked cops thats been extorting us locked up, but my niggas walked. Stop snitchin on cops nigga!" Imagine hearing that in the hood. Fuck outta here, that shit makes no sense.

It's the principle of snitching. Just cuz a cop is crooked doesnt mean he was extorting you. Ya'll are partners you laid up with the dude and now you flipped on him. YOU'RE A SNITCH. If you are part of any criminal activity and you open you're mouth about any other criminal activity you're a snitch. Don't matter who they are what they did how much of a penalty you are facing keep your fucking mouth shut.

Now if you are an ordinary straight-laced dude not in that life feel free to do what ever you want. Shit you pay police salaries through your own tax dollars use the motherfuckers. That's not snitching.

Fam, Lucas and the cops were not partners. If he didnt pay them they were locking him up. That shit is extortion. To call the man a snitch because he implicated crooked police that were extorting him, as opposed to doing 70 years for these same fucks while they testify AGAINST him in court is a bit of a stretch. What, are they gonna put money on his books and take care of his family while he's inside since he looked out for them? Can he hold his head high in prison and say "I'm doing 70 years for the NYPD?"
