11:13 am. They put toilet tissue over my Ring camera. Took a large package which was a car seat for my friend's granddaughter (She's 46, looks 35, she had her kid at 19)

I'm gonna see if any of my neighbors caught something useful on their Rings. Not sure what can be done legally if I get a face on Cam, I'll just give it to the police and they can file it away with all the others I guess.

Sharing for awareness, I guess the toilet paper/paper towel is a new tactic.

Man that's fucked up. If I'm home & folks want to try that just open the door & let the two Cane's just stand there..lol If they think they can outrun them, take the packages..lol

In a neighborhood in NW DC, some homeless looking white dude has been stealing folks shit for over a month or more. They have a bunch of camera footage, cops arrested him & dude was back out the next day. Dude walking up on porches, to the backs of folks houses (when they switched delivery points). I wish a motherfucker would walk in my yard, I'm letting the dogs out. What those neighbors should do is everyone turn off/take down there rings or cameras and snatch dudes ass up, he'd just disappear or get his ass whipped so bad he'd never come back.

I'm too lazy to remix that, but if I were, I'd be something to the effect of me putting toilet paper on my neighbor's ring camera and stealing his car seat, to distract him from noticing his wife climbing out the back window, to head to my crib.
Yeah that would have gotten a few ha-ha's at your expense. But Nah I am way above that.

I hope they catch whoever it was that took your items.

I sometimes just have em hold an item and go pick it up rather than having to deal with situations like this cause for all you know it might be a neighbor.

I have been doing some real reporting on this on BGOL, not just racist dog whistle on local media to encourage over policing and bait packages that will trap young adults into the criminal justice system.

1. You can pay just $10 a month for this major retailer to accept your packages as a CMRA which is a bargain. As soon it is delivered it is under the store security system. They accept mail from all the couriers, take a picture for you to see on their app. Package thieves and even a criminal delivery agent can't get around their store security by false flagging delivery.

You don't have to worry about a pedophile delivery driver snatching your kid up.

2. FEDEX has this nice service to hold your packages at various retailers if you know the shipper is going to send it this way. Unfortunately, Amazon does not tell you what shipping service they will use or let you choose.

3. UPS is little more convoluted when I used their service a long time. They might have improved it, I know they had a package kiosk.

If you see your local police wasting their time with bait packages - trapping people, you need to speak up. Many times these are feeble minded people struggling to survive, while I am living in opulence, mounting multiple women to create hybrid offspring with some superior traits.

What I suspected, this has led to over policing and upgrading felony charge laws in many states when it used to be a mismeandor. It is the new drug war.

Oh well don't steal shit & you don't have to worry about the consequences

I am just looking out for these weak fools, I don't want to pay for their incarceration, their felony record will keep them from working and paying taxes.

You should have your stuff sent and held at a UPS Store if it's high value.
FEDEX will leave a door tag and reschedule up to 3 times.
If you use Amazon, use the locker or have them deliver it to the distro center or somewhere that accepts and holds their deliveries.

Sucks that they got you but tis the season to be robbing.

It was my female friend. She has deliveries come to my place because it's more secure than hers ironically. Which makes me believe it was a neighbor who took it.

Does your condo have security cameras in the hallways or main entrance?

At the main entrances yeah. Not the hallways. I emailed a synopsis along with the pic I posted here to my property manager. Also printed a letter and left it for every neighbor on my wing who has a ring, asking them to email me if they have anything useful. I know the exact time it was taken.

Probably was an inside job.
I WFH so I'm always around. Had a delivery from Amazon yesterday and they couldn't get into the security door. They text me and let me know they couldn't get in. I went downstairs and got my package. That's a nice touch.

Did she put insurance on the delivery?

That's the thing. I also WFH and I was home when it was left, and when it was stolen.

I told her to ensure that Amazon doesn't ring my bell or knock on my door cause I hate being woken up or startled by someone at my door unexpectedly. And you know how much women order shit on Amazon.

So now I'll have to have her tell them to ring my doorbell cause I can't trust that stuff will be there anymore.

She didn't have insurance but they might send out another one, I'm not sure. It was at my door about 2 hours. I'll just have to make sure they notify me from now on...used to be safe sitting there for days but those days are over everywhere now.

this can't help you now but in the future get two cameras that shoot across your front door
from opposite directions
that way no one can escape their field of view

The fewer the details the better. She doesn't need to go into the entire ring camera saga, just say she didn't get it.

I work from home, but one of my chimes I can hear in part of my house, the other chime is either unplugged part of the time or only on for rings and not motion alerts. When it is unplugged (when I'm working), I get my alerts via my phone where I can visually see them, but volume is off. My office is right outside my front door so I can usually hear when they are on my front porch.

She can add delivery instructions for important deliveries, but instructions are per address so she would need to update them each time if some deliveries are important vs not, unless she wants to put two entries in her amazon address book with different instructions. She can always use your phone or email for delivery alerts, or you can install the app with her name and password for delivery notifications, but any solution that is going to help y'all out is a bit messy with the co-mingling of info.

She can also do pickups at places like whole foods or wherever your city uses for pick ups.

Good luck. I'm sorry to hear this happened and hope you figure out who is responsible.

get out the hood. with an 850 credit score, you would think you could.

ring sucks. get an overhead camera and place it next to the roof. the association shouldnt be a problem.

amazon is usually good about resending

They also put lotion over his and other cameras after they stole the first package. That's when they hit mine.

I'm waiting for Atlanta PD to show up to file a police report.

I'm giving management all my picture and video evidence. He's not supposed to be running Airbnb here in the first place.

Hope he gets fined or loses his condo over this.
