What do you mean out the kitchen? You ever heard of cordless phones? Or having a phone in the same area? I know a few people that own pizza shops and the phone is in the same room.. There's no leaving the kitchen.. You act like they cooking pizza.. Its throw in the big ass oven that's it, you act like they turning off stoves and shit to answer the phone.. Hell you ever heard of earbuds?.. You talking about accepting tech but acting like dudes is using rotary phones to answer the phone.. Also lots of places had their own car and the driver just used it so no wear and tear on their own vechile.. Working for door dash is not working for a pizza shop.. They now have to compete with hundreds maybe even thousands of drivers and in most states not getting hourly pay, sometimes for $3 deliveries driving miles back and forth to unfamiliar restaurants.. At the pizza shop you work for one spot, get paid hourly + get tips... Hell I remember yrs ago places like dominoes and papa johns were hiring for 13+ an HR for deliveries and most of the deliveries were just within a few miles.. So they didn't have to go far, sometimes just up the block and they got tipped.. Some of these dudes were doing 5 or more deliveries within the HR getting tipped at least $5 per delivery.. So do the math $25 or more in tips + 13+ an HR on the clock.. That's like 38 an HR delivering for the pizza place.. This was back in like 2010.. Lot of foreigners were doing those jobs getting paid 38+ an HR delivering pizza on bikes mostly.. See how not having automation had reg people making money

You dj what if people felt like that was a meaningless job and started using tablets with pre recorded sets instead of DJs would you be happy with automation? I remember you was going on a long rant when I told you I didn't use djs and used dj Amazon tablet.. told you how I saved money just by having my own music and playing it for the crowd and nobody cared or complained cause people were there for the booty and they liked the music.. automation and ai could take your job to would you be happy with that

So the solution is the scale back automation so people in our shit hole country can keep being underpaid at meaningless jobs?

Perhaps we should switch from cars to horse and buggy so people can make minimum wage shoveling manure too.

How are they meaningless jobs if some people are paying bills, rent, feeding their kids, staying afloat.. some states people are getting paid 20+ an hr as cashiers.. you know some people making 30 an hr at Costco right? Imagine a teen or early 20 person making that much.. you could pay for a lot of things, flip it, even start a bizz.. lot of people need start up cash since America ain't just throwing loans out there and well this is 1 way how you get it.. if you have other people in your circle with same idea now you have joint income coming in from these so called meaningless jobs.. many immigrants who own bizz use these jobs to fund their bizz by saving.. but hey you rather automation wiping it out

Grocery stores have had self checkout for over 20 years, but all of them still have cashiers. Some are even getting rid of self checkout due to shoplifting.

Not all grocery stores have them, in fact many don't as far as smaller chains..like I said if all stores went the route like 5 below where there is zero cashiers would you be happy that hundreds of thousands of people lost their jobs due to automation? It's about getting rid of all jobs like you bodly was proud of that Amazon plan on doing to hundreds of thousands of people

Delivery drones aren't even legal in many cities. Even if they were they lack the accuracy, battery power and safety features to replace humans across the board. It's about as realistic as this 7-year-old commercial.

I complained because I've seen first hand how much better a DJ can rock a strip club than an automated playlist. That's half the point.

Automated music systems have been common since the 1980s. They've run on algorithms since Pandora came out in 2005. 20 years later DJ's still haven't been replaced by robots.

On top of that, for every working DJ there's at least 10 to 20 more who aspire to be in that profession.

Can you say the same for cashiers?

So the tech has been out for 20 years and most stores still don't have them. So there is no world in which these automated kiosks will replace all cashiers. At least not all at once.

I don’t care. The humans race is overly saturated with idiots. If the man tells you he plans to fire hundreds of thousands of you (basically, fuck you we don’t need you) and you STILL spend your money there, you deserve whatever misery comes from it. You are a singular independent contractor.. Your story might not be the same as others especially individuals who came over here with nothing and aren't from Canada but completely different continents where it was much harder to get here and had much harsher conditions in their country

I know a bunch of Yemen cashiers who send money back to their countries that feed their families that literally have nothing and has been under attack for yrssss... That cashier job literally keeps their family alive from food to shelter.. So they do aspire to have jobs in America and working the cashier is one of the most convenient 1s to help save their family... So while you look down on it there's literally thousands of people outside the us that actually survive off of cashier money that's being sent to them.. But as a Canadian immigrant you don't know about some of the other worlds problem

You can't tell me the crap you are typing makes sense when you read it. Automation is mostly about corporate greed. They would rather get rid of employees and secure the profits saved from their salaries by replacing them with machines. While charging the consumers the same and more often more for the products. As a DJ you should be worried because your skill set is one of the easiest to replace with juke boxes or even automated digital DJs.
