Amazing Spider-Man 2 reviews + mine (Might contain minor spoilers)

Not as good as the first one but not terrible. I saw the premiere Thursday and then saw it again Saturday, because my kids chose to see it over Captain America 2. It was actually better the second time I saw it. The action was pretty damn good. The 3D was way better than average. This is a 3D film, not that post production garbage we normally get.

The cast did a great job acting. While at times it seems that his Peter Parker could use some work, Garfield IS Spider-Man once he puts on the suit. Emma Stone always performs well on screen. Jamie Foxx and Dane Dehaan both did a good job. Paul Giamatti, not so much. Where this film really suffered was in character development, especially on the villain side. I need Electro and Green Goblin to have more compelling reasons for their sudden "to the death" hatred of Spider-Man. The foreshadowing was also way too obvious and overused.

As an action/Comic book film it definitely wasn't at the top of my list (Avengers, TDK, Captain America 2), but it also wasn't at the bottom. (Elektra, Catwoman). It was a decent action film that would have benefitted from a less fragmented plot and better character development. 7/10.

Not kinda time was spent on da development of da villains (especially Electro). I would think that some of y'all would've liked da one liners since y'all be all for that campy shit. Too much focus on Gwen & Peter And yes, the trailers gave a lot away. :smh:

My wife had to keep waking me up. Every time she nudged me I would say "I'm watching!" That shit put me to sleep so many times...:hmm:

I'd be lyin' if I said I didn't doze a few times. Granted, I had a liquid cocaine directly before seeing da movie and no sleep after work last night.

I didn't like the flick and I didn't like the development of Electro. It came off like I was watching Jim Carrey playing The Riddler in Batman & Robin. How in the hell can you blow up an entity that can dematerialize?!?

Spiderboyfriend

That shit was sooooo soft

Fuck they relationship

I wanna see u swing and shit

I dozed off like 4 times famo

This wasn't half as bad an y'all making it out to be. Even if you didn't read the comics you knew Gwen's death was coming from a mile away...Spidey talking about moving to England sealed her fate. This movie suffered from the same issue that Spider-Man 3 did.

Too many villains.

This movie would have worked much better if the ONLY villain was Harry and the focus was to contrast Peter's relationships with Gwen vs his friendship with Harry and his obligations to both. That would have made the climax make much more sense. They spent more time giving Jamie Foxx screen time when focusing on the Goblin would have made for a much more impactful movie. Captain America: The Winter Soldier handled the "friend-turned-foe" angle much better.

i thought the same thing regarding the villains. But, i think the transformation in this movie was better than spiderman 3 (venoms transformation was the dumbest thing i have ever seen). Electro with the new suit was corney too.

You can't introduce Carnage until you introduce Venom. Fuck a rush job. I'd even enjoy a movie with Kraven the Hunter.

I saw the movie this morning. I enjoyed the chemistry between Peter & Gwen Stacy. The relationship of Peter & Norman were done nicely. My dislike of the film was how they rushed Norman's turn into the Goblin. There was no buildup & all of a sudden he's a master of the suit & glider. Jamie Foxx Max Dillion character was like the Riddler charchter in Batman Forever. Remember how the Riddler was obsessed with Bruce Wayne. The Rhino was kinda a waste but I know that they headed towards the Sinister Six.

I fill that the movie would have been better overall if they had focused on Peter & Norman. Spiderman vs. The Goblin. Also glad they didn't cop out with the Gwen Stacy death, like how they handled it with Peter not being able to save her.

saw it last weekend. thought it was pretty good. I felt the pacing was off and i was wondering why harry all of a sudden knew everything about the glider. And i cheered a little bit when gwen died. i kept telling the girl i went with that they wouldnt do it..and surprise!

I give the whole movie like 7/10 though.

That's my opinion exactly. You actually wrote out a balanced opinion, unlike a lot of these "I hated the first one so I forced myself to see the 2nd one" types in here. BTW, for those who hated this one so much....I look forward to seeing your review of the next Spiderman movie which you will also hate

the emotional spiderman 2...what a shitty disappointment...very few bright spots...@ least I watched it for free
