Am I the Only one seriously bugged out and Excited a Black Man Could Be President?!?!

Re: Am I the Only one seriously bugged out and Excited a Black Man Could Be President

If Obama doesn't win, it could be another 50 years before another black person has a legit chance as a presidential candidate, not going thru the vice president route. And it could cause the same riots that occurred in the 60's to happen throughout the country.

I have to disagree with you there. Obama's whole campaign has been about change and inspiration. I think he's run such good campaign so far that even if he doesn't win he's provided a bit of a blueprint for liberal politicians for years to come. They will improve on it. And he's only the third Black senator ever. Young inspired Black politicians have a lot of space to fill in that legislative body.
I think there a few young minority law students, staffers, interns, you name it, who are watching and learning. The whole political climate has been changed.
Having a diverse field of candidates will become the norm. And not just running on their skin color or gender, but because they will see that their ethnicity or gender is no longer the barrier it used to be.

Yes, I'm bugged out and excited. If he wins I'm going to party like it's '99. Then get to work....

I'm just happy 'they' haven't started shooting at him yet.:hmm:

Re: Am I the Only one seriously bugged out and Excited a Black Man Could Be President

In my opinion the recent attempt by Fox News to destroy his chances of becoming the first Black President by repeatedly running clips of Rev. Wright has ultimately back fired. Obama's speech was not only historic but prophetic, God-driven and caused white people to realize that what all the so-called angry Black men such as the Honorable Louis Farrakhan, Malcolm X, MLK and others preached about is now coming to past. White people embraced his speech and are slowly beginning an honest dialog about the sin of slavery. The United States has lost the respect of the world and just as Farrakhan said during the Million Man March, the Black man will be one to save America and help heal the nation. Racism will surely begin to die a slow death and Black men will begin take their place as true world leaders.
