Another little factoid, there'a another ALMOST FAMOUS singer outta Philly named Res, who was initially in Groove Theory as well before she broke away. Groove Theory was very neo-soulish (as was everything coming out of Philly's Black Lily venue those days -- Musiq, Jill Scott, Bilal, Jazzyfatnastees, Lady Alma, India.Arie, Floetry, teenaged Jazmine Sullivan), but Res broke away because that wasn't really her sound. Her debut album made noise on MTV 2 and it's pretty dope.

That whole album is corked with gems. Timeless or maybe I'm biased because I like it.
