All My Brothers in Houston Stay Safe(Flooded)

Mannnnnnn I'm in some janky ass parking lot on aldine bender by the hardy toll road....it's not raining but the flood water is still there

I almost stalled out this morning in my truck on 249 and Antoine. That water was higher than i could see. I saw a lil bit of it swish across the hood of my SUV (09 explorer) and just jumped the curb into a parking lot.

I been out in these streets since 5am :smh:

Its another round of rain on the way:smh:

It's crazy out here. One of my friends has been stranded near 59 and Fondren since 6am. Hopefully none of you have to get out in this mess.

I've never been to Houston so please excuse naivity. What is it about the area that makes it prone to flooding like this? I recall similar happening last year around the same time. Is Houston below sea level or something?

Shit is crazy out here. A girl I went to school with had her car flooded out. This is her 2nd car to become flooded in less than a year. :eek2:
Everyone stay safe out there.
I'm staying my black ass home today, fuck that.

Mannnnnnn i FINALLY made it home :smh:

I was essentially stuck on beltway 8 at the hardy toll road. I couldn't get around that shit for nothing because it was closed going both ways. I tried to take aldine bender but same shit, at the hardy toll road shit was shut down.

I had to take the long way around, so from greenspoint i had to go 45 south, 610 east to 59 north.

All those car dealerships along i-45 on both sides, water was covering the hoods on most every car on the lot. Shit was crazy! I meant to get more pictures but this one pretty much shows you how bad shit was on the north:

Wait what,Houston is prone to flooding so why wouldn't a insurance company cover
They make more money selling it as a stand alone coverage.

Plus it's higher if you're in a flood zone. What i pay for flood insurance might be way more/less than what you pay.

Normal flooding is considered raining or natural causes...

Not flooding because fuckers break levels or flood this area to save that area...

We don't take the time to read, that shit is in writing

We don't listen when down if those fuckers speak, sometimes they speak on it

Flooding is only covered for vehicles if you have comprehensive coverage (or property damage for RVs)

FEMA runs the flood insurance market for homeowners/renters under the NFIP: fema.gov/national-flood-insurance-program - and that takes 30 days to kick into effect

Bottom-line is insurance companies outsourced the home flooding risk to the government to keep their pockets fat
