2 women accused Cain

I sincerely hope this is unfounded. But, if you run for public office, you must
realize that your past will not escape you. Just ask Bill Clinton, and others.

Cain Denies Report Of Sexual Harassment

nprlogo_138x46.gif

October 31, 2011

WASHINGTON (AP) — Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain's
campaign denied allegations Sunday that he was twice accused of sexual
harassment while he was the head of the National Restaurant Association
in the 1990s.

In a statement to The Associated Press, his campaign disputed a Politico
report that said Cain had been accused of sexually suggestive behavior
toward at least two female employees.

The report said the women signed agreements with the restaurant group
that gave them five-figure financial payouts to leave the association and
barred them from discussing their departures. Neither woman was identified.

The report was based on anonymous sources and, in one case, what the
publication said was a review of documentation that described the
allegations and the resolution.

Cain's campaign told the AP that the allegations were not true, and
amounted to unfair attacks.

"Inside-the-Beltway media have begun to launch unsubstantiated personal
attacks on Cain," spokesman J.D. Gordon said in a written statement.
"Dredging up thinly sourced allegations stemming from Mr. Cain's tenure as
the Chief Executive Officer at the National Restaurant Association in the
1990s, political trade press are now casting aspersions on his character
and spreading rumors that never stood up to the facts."

Asked if Cain's campaign was denying the report, Gordon said, "Yes."

"These are baseless allegations," Gordon said in a second interview later
Sunday evening. "To my knowledge, this is not an accurate story."

Cain plans to continue with several planned appearances in Washington
on Monday. He is slated to discuss his tax plan at the American Enterprise
Institute, appear at the National Press Club and hold a healthcare briefing
on Capitol Hill.

Cain — a self-styled outsider relatively new to the national stage — is
facing a new level of scrutiny after a burst of momentum in the race for the
GOP presidential nomination. He's been steadily at or near the top of national
surveys and polls in early presidential nominating states, competitive with
former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney.

The former pizza company executive has been pointing to his long record in
business to argue that he has the credentials needed to be president during
a time of economic strife.

In its report, Politico said it confronted Cain early Sunday outside of the CBS
News Washington bureau, where he had just been interviewed on "Face the
Nation."

"I am not going to comment on that," he told Politico when asked specifically
about one of the woman's claims.

When asked if he had ever been accused of harassment by a woman, he
responded, Politico said, by asking the reporter, "Have you ever been
accused of sexual harassment?"

A message seeking comment from Peter Kilgore, listed on the National
Restaurant Association website as its chief legal counsel, was not immediately
returned.

Re: 2 women accused Cain

As soon as he went up in the polls in Iowa this story came out,its like someone said thats about as far as you go.

Re: 2 women accused Cain

This is serious for cain, because money $$$$$ was paid to the women, with confidentially agreements, to go away. That means that the in house restaurant association counsel deemed the complaints seriously credible; probably with corroborative evidence such as an audio tape. Remember what happened with O'really over at <s>FOX</s> FAKE news. The complaining woman audio taped him basically asking her to fuck him multiple times. She got $10 Million dollars. For cain to totally deny these legal agreements to squash sexual harassment allegations against him ever happened is probably the only card he has to play right now, with him hoping, wistfully, that this story goes away. The tabloid press will dig and most likely we will see images on television soon of the woman who got paid by cains employer the restaurant association to go away. If the woman are white, which I'll make a side wager they are, then cain will be doing some serious tap dancing for his tea bag supporters.

Re: 2 women accused Cain

I just have to say: This a bizarre ass case. Thus far.

  • 2 women accuse Cain of inappropriate behavior;

  • Then, a third woman joins that allegation;

  • Neither woman has revealed themselves; and neither has said what entailed the inapprpriate behavior.

  • The women apparently raised the "confidentiality clause" as the reason that they can't come forward with their claims

  • But, the National Restuarant Association advised that it would waive the confidentiality so that the women could come forward

  • One woman then comes out, through her attorney, and says she stands by her claims (what fucking claim?) that Cain acted inapprpriately; but, she doesn't want to reveal her identity. - Like why the fuck is she even speaking

I don't really care for Cain, especially after all of his "cooning" - - and that ignant-ass comment today to the effect that he is the Koch's "brother by another mother".

Nevertheless, I have problems when people can stand in the damn shadows, throw rocks, and try to hide their damn hands. AND, the media (and I really think it should be chided on this one) picks up what can only be described as unuttered, unsubstantiated and just unspecified allegations and ride them like someone has actually said something.

Now, Cain's "I can't remember, oh yeah it was . . . bullshit" at the very least displays his lack of sophistication in handling anything more complicated than mopping up the grease from an errant slice of pizza on the floor - - but I don't believe that Cain, or anyone else should be taken to task or held out to dry for mere innuendo.

Either come-the-fuck-forward with the evidence; or shut the fuck up.

Pardon my french.

In fact, I think that the innuendo as in this case should be the basis for defamation of character -- if the accuser does not come forward. But, on the other hand, if sued the accuser could always come-out then and tell-all - - because truth is an absolute defense to defamation. :D

Re: 2 women accused Cain

  • 2 women accuse Cain of inappropriate behavior;

AND??

AND??
<blockquote>

Both women who accused cain worked at the same company the NRA (National Restaurant Association) where Cain was the CEO at that time. The incidents occur at different times during Cain’s tenure at NRA, demonstrating that Cain learned nothing from the first sexual harassment accusation and subsequent financial settlement. Cain learning nothing represents hubris & arrogance & entitlement

Cain was asked by RepubliKlan bloggers on March 2011 if he had “Any skeletons in his closet which would come out when opponents did opposition research on him??” Cain lied and said NO. Listen to the audio recording HERE

The two women, in separate instances of sexual harassment claims were paid a total of approximately $80,000. When Cain was asked about whether he as the CEO of the NRA knew about these payments on <s>FOX</s> FAKE News he lied. He said about any payments to women : "At the Restaurant Association – outside of the Restaurant Association, Absolutely Not”…….. A few hours later on <s>FOX</s> FAKE News he recanted, and suddenly remembered the payments. Again hubris & arrogance & stupidity.

A third woman who also worked at the NRA when Cain was CEO says she was sexually harassed by Cain but didn’t file a complaint. She says as one of the other woman has alleged, that Cain invited her to his corporate apartment after business hours; after 9PM. Another NRA employee Chris Wilson said he witnessed an incident behind one of the sexual harassment complaints against Herman Cain. He said : “---everybody knew with the (Cain) campaign that this would eventually come up." Wilson said if the accuser is allowed speak publicly "it'll be the end of his campaign."

Herman Cain's wife — Gloria Cain cancels her scheduled Nov. 4th 2011 appearance on <s>FOX</s> FAKE News. She still might appear on <s>FOX</s> FAKE News at some point in the future — but one might not expect to see or hear from her for a while.

</blockquote>

As the attorney said, for one of the woman who the NRA paid a financial settlement to, in lieu of going to trial to attempt to defend their CEO Mr. Cain, — he said about Mr. Cain multiple sexual harassment accusers — “where there is smoke there is fire.” He is totally correct.

The fact that as-of-now none of the woman has come out of anonymity and placed herself in front of the corporate media’s television cameras is no surprise. There is no upside for her. If she accepts money to tell her Herman Cain harassment story then she would be portrayed as just a paid slut — this was how Anita Hill was portrayed by the republiklan noise machine; even though she receive no money. If she says she is speaking up now, years after incident, because she felt dishonoured when she heard Cain claim no sexual harassment occurred and that the money she received was just severance pay, the corporate media will pillory her to show proof about something that happened at least 12 years ago.

I’m not an attorney but it seems to me that the deal her attorney should of made if the woman was serious about publically debunking Cain’s lies, would have been a full public disclosure of the entire file in the case. Obviously there were depositions taken from many people at the NRA, outside counsel and staff counsel looked at all the evidence gathered and concluded it was best to financially settle for a modest amount rather than go to trial. Put the whole file as a pdf on the internet. Let Cain explain why other NRA employees corroborated the women’s complaint. In my opinion that is what the attorney representing the woman should of negotiated — not just a release of the confidentiality agreement as it pertains to her ability to speak or issue a statement. I agree that the written statement released was weak; but clearly this woman wasn’t ready to go all-the-way and confront the republiklan noise machine (drudge, fake news, brietbart, rush, etc.)

CBS News

The fourth woman will come forward later today and accuse Republican
presidential frontrunner Herman Cain of sexual harassment, according to
attorney Gloria Allred.

Allred and the unidentified woman plan to hold a joint press conference
in New York at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time.

Re: 2 women accused Cain

Actually, while she appears a little, ahem, thick, she alleges an incident that
occurred 14 years ago and I can see where she might have been an attractive
woman.

She alleges: She was once employed by the Education Foundation of the
National Restuarant Association; she had been terminated; she contacted
Herman Cain for help; she arrived from New Jersey to D.C., to meet with
Cain -- checking into a Holiday Inn; she found that her room had been up-
graded to a luxury room of some kind; Herman Cain admitted that he had
her room upgraded; that she had dinner with Cain; that enroute back to
her hotel, Cain advised that he would take her by the Corporate offices in
D.C., however, instead of doing that, while parked in the car, Cain touched
on the leg, ran his hand up her dress and towards and reached for her genitalia;
and then grabbed/cupped her head, moving it down towards his crouch; she
said that she asked Cain what was he doing, his reply:

You need a job right?

A Stimulus Package ? ? ? ?

The woman's statement sounds to me like something more than sexual
harassment. With the physical contact, this sounds incredibly like ole boy
may have committed an assault.

Mr. Cain, you must respond.

Republican President candidate Herman Cain got the "Allred treatment" this afternoon as infamous feminist lawyer Gloria Allred held a press conference with the fourth of his accusers.

Four women have accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment but this is the first one to show her face publicly since Politico broke the story in October.

And her face is white.

Early on the scandal was compared with a sexual harassment story of years past, that of another black conservative Justice Clarence Thomas. But the fact that Anita Hill, Thomas' accuser was a black woman, allowed for easy character assassination by the Senate Judiciary Committee and some in the media at the time.

Hill was portrayed as "slick" and a "political opportunist" even though she was one of only a handful of accomplished African-American law professors at that time. And even though Hill's allegations could be corroborated by other witnesses the hearing was cut abruptly short by then chairman and now Vice President Joe Biden.

Cain and his supporters were quick to call the sexual harassment story a "high tech lynching" a la Clarence Thomas' now infamous rant during his hearings, but as details emerged it seems that this is nothing of the sort. With Herman Cain we have a whole new element in the mix: the race of the accuser, proof of a settlement of multiple allegations of harassment, and now a victim coming forward to describe not harassment but an alleged sexual assault.

During the press conference today, we met Sharon Bialek. Ms. Bialek was employed at the educational foundation of the National Restaurant Association (NRA) in 1996-1997.

Bialek is a registered Republican. She's blonde, attractive and articulate. She is the mother of a 13-year-old son. She worked for the NRA for 9 years and at the time had a long term boyfriend of four years.

About a month before Bialek was let go from her job at the educational foundation she interacted with Herman Cain during a NRA convention in Chicago. Cain met Ms. Bialek and her long term boyfriend and even partied with them at an after party. When she was let go a month later she contacted Cain for help in finding a new job or perhaps getting her old job back at the NRA.

She traveled down to D.C. to meet with Cain and when she arrived she was told he had upgraded her room to the palatial suite. She later met Cain for drinks and dinner and describes an alleged sexual assault, not harassment on the drive back to her hotel.

When in the car Cain asked Bialek, "Why are you here?" Bialek says she replied, "Actually Herman my boyfriend who you met said I should meet with you to help me find a new job." Bialek then alleges Cain, "reached under skirt for her genitals, pulled her head toward his crotch and when she protested said, "You want a job right?"

Sexual assault occurs when "someone touches any part of another person's body in a sexual way, even through clothes, without that person's consent." Bialek's description of Mr. Cain's alleged actions certainly seem to match the legal definition.

Herman Cain's official statement upon the conclusion of the Bialek press conference was a standard denial with a shout out to his 9-9-9 plan thrown in for good measure.

Just as the country finally begins to refocus on our crippling $15 trillion national debt and the unacceptably high unemployment rate, now activist celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred is bringing forth more false accusations against the character of Republican front-runner Herman Cain.

All allegations of harassment against Mr. Cain are completely false. Mr. Cain has never harassed anyone. Fortunately the American people will not allow Mr. Cain's bold "9-9-9 Plan", clear foreign policy vision and plans for energy independence to be overshadowed by these bogus attacks.
However, his charm offensive on the American public looks to have run out of steam as now he is a black man being accused of sexual assault by a living, breathing, blonde, white, Republican woman.

The dynamics are entirely different than they were just hours ago. Cain should have come clean although one wonders how you can describe the alleged sexual assault and not sound like you've committed a crime (with which Mr. Cain could not be charged as the statute of limitations have run.)

Race is the elephant in the room, along with Sharon Bialek's blonde hair, and Gloria Allred's power suit. The history of the defense of white women and their innocence in the face of black men -- who in America's history were actually lynched -- looms large over these allegations.

That's not to say that the race of this woman makes Cain's alleged actions any better or worse. It just means that the perception may be worse among those who still hold onto old school racial tropes about black men sexually assaulting white women as is alleged in this case.

One of the five women to have accused Herman Cain of sexual harassment when she worked for him at the National Restaurant Association has been named and pictured, making her the second of Cain's identified 'victims'.

Karen Kraushaar, a 55-year-old federal employee and registered Republican, was one of the two women who, in the late 1990s, settled claims of sexual harassment against the 2012 GOP presidential candidate.

Mrs Kraushaar's lawyer released a statement from his client last week after it was first reported on Politico, starting the slew of allegations against Cain. She is unwilling to add anything more except to confirm it is her.

Karen Kraushaar, one of the two women who settled sexual harassment claims
against Herman Cain with the National Restaurant Association, spoke publicly
for the first time on Tuesday about her allegations against the Republican
presidential candidate.

Ms. Kraushaar, a spokeswoman at the Treasury Department, said in an interview
that she was upset that her name had leaked into some press reports. But she
said that she had decided to speak out now that her identity was publicly known.

“When you are being sexually harassed in the workplace, you are extremely
vulnerable,” she said. “You do whatever you can to quickly get yourself into a job
some place safe, and that is what I thought I had achieved when I left.”

Ms. Kraushaar had previously allowed her lawyer to challenge Mr. Cain’s denial that
he had done anything wrong while at the helm of the restaurant association in the
late 1990s. But after another woman, Sharon Bialek, went public on Monday and
several news organizations published Ms. Kraushaar’s name on Tuesday, she said
she had decided to talk publicly — at least in a limited way.

She said she did not know whether or how she might tell more of her story but said
that she had been <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">warming “to the idea of a joint press conference where all of the
women would be together with our attorneys and all of this evidence would be
considered together.”</span>

She said of Mr. Cain: “These allegations can be considered together as a body of
evidence.”

Ms. Kraushaar’s public statement came less than an hour before Mr. Cain was
expected to confront Monday’s allegations from Ms. Bialek at a news conference in
Phoenix.

Mr. Cain has denied all allegations of sexual harassment. The restaurant association
confirmed that the group settled sexual harassment allegations made against Mr.
Cain by Ms. Kraushaar.

“I reject all of those charges,” Mr. Cain said Monday afternoon about Ms. Bialek.
How can I defend charges when I don’t remember this person by name.” He added
a few minutes later: “I don’t even know who this lady is.”

Re: Ut Oh: Woman No. 1 Identified

Damn looks like My Main Man Herman is going thru a 21st century hi-tech lynching. He better bow out now before he gets charged with insider trading, burglary and some unsolved murders.

Re: Ut Oh: Woman No. 1 Identified

This is serious for cain,......For cain to totally deny these legal agreements to squash sexual harassment allegations against him ever happened is probably the only card he has to play right now, with him hoping, wistfully, that this story goes away. The tabloid press will dig and most likely we will see images on television soon of the woman who got paid by cains employer the restaurant association to go away. <span style="background-color:yellow"><b>If the woman are white, which I'll make a side wager they are, then cain will be doing some serious tap dancing for his tea bag supporters.</b></span>

The Atlantic
is reporting that Herman Cain Has a Powerful Enemy in Iowa,
and has messed with the wrong Iowan: Steve Deace, a Des Moines-based
radio host said to be one of the most influential right-wing figures in the Hawkeye
State and described as Iowa's most dangerous conservative talker. Four years
ago, he played an instrumental role in Mitt Romney's loss, and Mike Huckabee's
win, in the Iowa caucuses.

WHY is Deace so riled with Herman Cain ???

"One strand of the multifaceted scandal unfolding around the Republican presidential candidate this week has been the <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">charge that Herman Cain treated female staffers of Des Moines-based radio host Steve Deace in a manner Deace found "awkward and inappropriate."</span>

____________________________

On Wednesday's show, Deace began by interviewing conservative filmmaker John Ziegler, who contended that in aiding Cain, the conservative media are really helping President Obama, who he said would beat Cain handily in a general election.

Deace played the skeptical straight man. He asked how the conservative media could prove Zielger wrong.

"Tell the truth about Herman Cain," Ziegler said. "Don't prop him up. Hold him to the same standard you would hold a liberal candidate to. We're not seeing that from the conservative media."

Deace jumped in: "You mean, for example, that if a Democrat said he wouldn't sign a pledge to defend marriage, that he had gave six different positions on abortion in two weeks, if he didn't know that China had nuclear weapons, things like that, that these same people would just trash this guy six ways from Sunday? Is that what you're saying?"

It was only the opening salvo in a two-hour show that frequently returned to the topic of Cain's many heresies against conservative doctrine. By the end of the show, Deace was declaring, <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">"The fact this guy got this far knowing nothing, standing for nothing ... is more of an indictment against us</span> than Mr. Cain.... <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">We get the government we deserve, whether that's Barack Obama or the next Kool-Aid drinking cult of personality -- Herman Cain."</span>

Re: Ut Oh: Woman No. 1 Identified

Did he tried to get in her cookie jar also?

I didn't know that he was married when all these alleged incidents happened. Damn, he might have a thing for white women, trying to bag them up on the side.

He should have brought a lied detector test results to the press conference.

Republicans still support Cain. Maybe not for president, but NONE of this new teabagging, foxnews gazing breed of republican view sexual harassment of woman in the same light as normal people.

She said she came out because someone was threatening to come out with their version of the story, so, she came out to tell the truth.

Who could that be?

Unlikely to be democrats -- they have little, if any, motivation. Cain is tanking in the polls and, from what I hear/read, is unlikely to obtain the Republican nomination or defeat Barack Obama if he won the nomination.

Who then ? ? ?

A Farewell from Herman Cain

My Final Thoughts

http://www.borowitzreport.com/2011/12/03/a-farewell-from-herman-cain/ December 02, 2011

Dear Friend,

And when I say “friend,” I mean it in the normal way, not “someone I’ve been sleeping with for 13 years.” Unless, of course, I have been sleeping with you for 13 years. In that case, I do mean it that way.

It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to end my inspirational quest for the White House. After much reassessing and reconsidering, I have decided to spend more time being screamed at by my wife. And by “more time,” I mean 24 hours a day, stopping only for bathroom breaks.

But before I go, let me share with you my final thoughts on my campaign. After months of crisscrossing this great land of ours and participating in over three hundred televised debates, I am being disqualified because of an extramarital affair. And that raises the following question: are you fucking kidding me?

I mean, let’s get real. I never heard of Libya. I didn’t know whether that CNN dude’s name was Wolf or Blitz. And my only training for running the #1 nation in the world was running its #8 pizza chain. Yet none of that, I repeat, none of that disqualified me. In fact, I was the front-fucking-runner, as long as I kept my 9-9-9 in my pants. (I have no idea what I meant by that — I just like saying 9-9-9.)

But here’s the part that really kills me. You’re kicking me to the curb because I was messing around, and instead you’re going with… Newt Gingrich? I repeat: are you fucking kidding me? Oh, I know what you’re saying: you love Newt because he’s an “intellectual.” Well, Newt Gingrich is the intellectual of the Republican field the way Moe was the intellectual of the Stooges.

And that leads me to my final point: you disgust me, America. Right now if I had my way, I’d up and move to another country. I really, truly would. Only I don’t know where any of them are, and my wife won’t let me leave the house.

Goodbye forever,

Herman
