Alex Ross' Detective Comics #1000 Variant Reimagines Batman's Debut

You know i just realized unintentionally i have too...

My oldest got a nice piece at a black comic festival a few weeks back.

Alex Ross is a phenomenal artist no doubt. I'm a fan 100% but he already got my bread through years of comics I've bought of his. The few comics I still buy and artists I support are all black artists. Alex already a millionaire he don't need my money, the brothers and sisters do. LOL

Agreed

I still dont understand why pixar hasn't tried to do an entire animated film in his art style.

Shit would be hard as Hell. I can't even visually see it. Watercolor in 3 dimensions??

After spider-verse?

I don't doubt anything anymore

Sin city is slept on too..

I would love to see his style

I have no idea how to name it

Photo realistic watercolor dynamic?

I would love to see an Alex Ross Spiderman, Batman, Superman, wonder woman moving on screen.

Spider-verse was a whimsical film. Alex Ross's work has always been serious and very cinematic. You know what should be a movie?

BROTHERMAN....

This man's storytelling ability is God-Like. He's producing great work still and mostly on his own....

whimsical...yes

but I feel like that description is unintentionally reductive

that film had depth and some REAL weight to it.

As much as I love the DC animated movies,
This has been my ONLY complaint about them.

I remember when The Teen Titans, "THE JUDAS CONTRACT" storyline was first announced years ago.
It was rumored that DC wanted to adapt the animation style to George Perez's artwork.
Then the project fell into development hell until some years later,
When it was released in 2017.

As I've said in other threads,
It's why I love "BATMAN/SUPERMAN: PUBLIC ENEMIES" so much.
It adapted to Ed McGuiness' art style.
Though honestly, it looked a bit jilted.

Can you imagined if ALL those CLASSIC DC storylines that are now being produced by their great animation division,
Looked like a Alex Ross, Jim Lee, Gil Kane, Romita (Sr. and Jr.) etc?
Instead of the current Japanime style?
