My mother-in-law. One of the few white people in my life I feel isnt racist and until I met her my number was 100%.
Doesn't matter what I tell you. Every action you ask to me to explain of hers wouldn't be enough. So I'm not going to waste my time.
I always tell my wife jokingly, "if I had the power to eliminate every white person on the planet I probably would with the exception of your mother".
I think we need to come to a agreement on the difference between a bigot and a racist.
A bigot or prejudiced person (IMO) is someone who doesn't like or hates others based on superficial reasons...skin color, ethnicity etc BUT they generally tend to not have the power to effect your life in any real way beyond hurting your feelings knowing they hate you for just walking in the room. BUT they CAN'T stop you from entering the room.
A racist (IMO) is a bigot with power and they DO have the means to effect your life in real ways..real economic ways. Like NOT hiring you even tho your quaified, or granting the loan or jailing you or excessively jailing you. Where the bigot hates that you are in the room the racist makes its so that you don't get access PERIOD.
As a A list actor and producer Matt Damon has power which means his influence can allow you in or keep you out. Do I think Damon is a raging I HATE NIGGAS racist? no. I think he's a white man who is comfortable around other white men and conducts his business like that. The inherent issue with that is that it puts anyone who isn't a white man on the outside...until he consciously thinks about it. Now how often does that happen? Look at his body of work and you tell me does Matt Damon consider non whites when HIRING.
Imagine if an A-List actor/producer came out and said, "I can't stand Black people. I've avoided doing projects with them as much as possible." His filmography *should* be vastly different from a "progressive" like Matt Damon. Doesn't matter what the intentions are, the results are the same. He had Universal by the balls with this film after the disappointing Bourne Legacy. If he had wanted Tickle-Me-Elmo as his sidekick, they would have done it. You think he asked for more minorities in the film or the behind the camera? Oh wait, there's a Black guy in the trailer and Bourne knocks out a brown dude with one punch. Well done, Matt.
Damon is no different than the soap opera actress who claimed Viola Davis never experienced discrimination. They don't understand our point of view but they're arrogant enough to tell us how we should feel. At least the Klan member isn't pretending to be an ally.
