I read in the piece how they said they already knew the world was far from being post-racial, so they weren't all that naive to the situation. Probably just thought because the folks around them didn't say shit they were like them.
Good that they seem the have found a place where they won't get nearly as many smart ass comments from white people. Just hope they are prepared for the other side; The smart ass comments from some black people. That family is out on an island and folks always going to have something to say about them.
People rather see the kids in the foster system than potentially have a happy life. People ain't shit.
ehhh - your example is not logical... because there are numbers that will prove him right
just look at last year's election most white christian evangelicals are overwhelmingly racist
observed in interviews and by policies and candidates they support
They knew their church was racist all the time, they just didn't think the church would show racism towards them. Newsflash : as those kids grow older and realize they are Black and start wanting to do Black activities, the parents are going to find out they themselves are racist too
This is what the movie Get Out highlighted...the covert racist. I'll take a confederate flag waving racist over the "I'm not racist, I know a black person" fuckers any day
Ain't this the truth. When Malcolm says," I have more respect for a man that lets me know where he stands even if he's wrong then one who comes up like an angel but it's nothing but a devil" he was exactly right
