NEW YORK, -- Africast Television Network (Africast TV), a U.S. based entertainment network, announced today an agreement with On
Command to exclusively offer African movies in 450,000 U.S. hotel rooms during Black History Month. From February 1 to February 28, On Command, a Liberty Media company that supplies in-room video-on-demand to over 1 million hotel rooms in North America, will show popular, African movies currently being featured on the Africast TV online network (http://www.africast.com).
Participating hotels include Marriott, Renaissance, Residence Inn, Courtyard,
Towneplace Suites, Springhill Suites, Hyatt, Wyndham, Loews, W, Sheraton,
Holiday Inn, and Four Seasons. Africast is also making history with game
developer Rapid Reality as the first provider of an African-themed online
videogame.
"These partnerships are important milestones in fulfilling our mission to
provide a global voice for Africans to tell their own stories to the world,"
says John Sarpong, Africast Chairman and CEO. "As the premier source of Pan
African media content, we're excited to offer our viewers with programming and

Africast plans to release, later this year, the first African-themed
online video game, "Africa", in partnership with video game developer Rapid
Reality. The game is the first Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game
(MMORPG) that will feature an African theme, characters and history. Set in
13th century Africa, tens of thousands of gamers from all over the globe will
be able to log on and experience the rich history, mythology and folklore of
Africa. "Africa" will use the latest 3-D gaming technology to create an
interdependent world where players can become wealthy traders or mighty
warriors, raise families or rule empires. A preview of the game can be seen at
