From a distance he looks like another Thomas Sankara, and from all accounts he’s doing good.
Sometimes these leaders have good intentions but stifle progress with bad economic ideologies. I’m curious to see how things improve in Burkina.

French nuclear fuels company Orano announced on Wednesday that authorities in Niger have taken control of its Somair uranium mine. This move comes as the military-led government increases pressure on foreign investors in the country.
Orano, which holds a 63% stake in the mine, stated that decisions made at Somair’s board meetings are no longer being enforced. The remaining 37% of the mine is owned by Niger.
At one point, Niger accounted for about 15% of Orano’s uranium supplies when its mines were operating at full capacity. This latest development follows a decision in June when Niger revoked Orano’s mining permit for its Imou-raren subsidiary. The company has also been warning of interference in governance at Somair for several months. Operations at the mine were suspended last year after Niger authorities halted exports.

The military junta in Burkina Faso has received delivery of at least 100 Chinese-manufactured armoured vehicles, including Norinco CS/VP14 MRAPs, Norinco VN22 6x6 wheeled armoured fighting vehicles, and Norinco CS/VN9 6x6 armoured personnel carriers.
They also reportedly received trucks and tankers manufactured by Shacman, which is a prominent Chinese vehicle manufacturer.
The Norinco CS/VP14 MRAP can withstand a 10-kg anti-tank mine under any wheel and can resist 7.62x51 mm gunfire from up to 30 metres. It has a total combat weight of 9 tonnes.
The Norinco VN22 has a heavily armoured hull that can resist 25 mm shells at the front and 14.5mm projectiles elsewhere. It can hold up to 9 infantrymen and is armed with a 30 mm automatic cannon and two Red Arrow 73D anti-tank missiles.
The Norinco CS/VN9 can withstand 12.7 mm bullets from 200 metres and can transport up to six paratroopers. It is also equipped with a 30 mm automatic cannon for self-defence.
These vehicles provide a comprehensive variety of capabilities including mine protection, fire support, anti-tank capabilities and of course troop transport, further indicating a shift towards a much more modern military for Burkina Faso since their military coup. It also suggests a warming of relations between Burkina Faso and China, which pre-coup, weren't as good

The problems are more complex than just that, for example, you can have the natural resources but if you lack the technology to mine them its worthless, unless you get a contractor to mine if for them unfortunately most of Africa's minerals and other resources are very hard to get to. Matter of fact, due to the harsh environment, lack of transportation infrastructure, and even things like diseases from mosquitos and flies, this makes getting to it more difficult than most country's resources.
Even if you were able to properly mine the resources, getting it out of most African Nations, at a large scale would be very difficult especially because many of the countries are landlocked, and other than the Nile, most rivers like the Congo River are too rough for boats while it being very few reliable railways.
But the biggest problem would be them trying to protect their resources from other countries and even people who are trying to loot.
Like I said its seems very simple into you start investigating and weighing out all of the variables.

The president of the Central African Republic Faustin-Archange Touadera arrived in Moscow on an official visit to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. The Russian embassy in Bangui stated that they will discuss issues of cooperation between the Central African Republic and Russia “in the spheres of economics, security and humanitarian affairs".
This comes as the UN sanctions on arms imports and diamond exports were cancelled with the support of Russia. Russian source "Rybar" noted that it is possible that during this meeting, Touadera will try to secure another batch of humanitarian aid to his country, as well as request assistance in lifting the remaining restrictions that are still in place.
Russia has close ties with the Central African Republic as it battles warring rebel factions across the country. Mercenaries from Russia's Wagner group have also supported CAR government forces since 2018, with Russia also having trained thousands of local troops.
Russia has been seeking to expand their sphere of influence in different parts of Africa, building on anti-western and anti-former colonial power sentiment that has increased in many African nations in recent years, by offering security support to many leaders in embattled countries.
