Robert Redford, movie star and Sundance founder, dies at 89
He won a massive following with "Butch Cassidy" and "All the President's Men." Through the Sundance Institute, he became a patron saint of independent film.
It's crazy but when i saw him in this season of Dark Winds i wondered if it would be one of his final appearances. He was so slick, cool ,charming and calm in every role he took on from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid ,The Sting, Sneakers,Legal Eagles , All the President's Men , The Way We Were, and Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Farewell to a legend.
I didn't know this. That is a damn good legacy to leave behind. It allows for more opportunities. Even more of a reason for me to say rest in peace and mean itRIP, he was great movie star, however he'll be a forever a legend for creating Sundance....

"Robert Redford On Growing The Sundance Brand After 29 Years ..."
Yes, Robert Redford created the Sundance Institute in 1981 and the Sundance Film Festival in 1985 to support independent filmmakers and champion bold, new storytelling outside of the Hollywood system. Redford envisioned the Institute as a space for artists to develop their independent projects, with the festival becoming a global showcase for emerging and established independent talent.
