Well, it benefits democrats to get black people worried or paranoids about this issue. That way they can make illegal immigration a talking point by making it feel like a 'poc'/black issue. They love playing the 'You're next' bullshit. Only place they about to deport your black ass is the next city over for that traffic warrant. Meanwhile, hector can violate border law and will be free to go. That's basically what they bitching about. Sanctuary cities.

Black people ain't got next. It's Hispanics who are now getting to know what it's like to be black. ACLU going harder for illegals than it ever has for black people.

Since most black immigrants have their paperwork tight, THAT'S what we should be concentrating on if we're to take a stand on immigration. Black immigrants don't need fucking sanctuary cities since 90 percent of them legit. Sanctuary cities is a HISPANIC issue. Period.

Florida jails get money for everyday they detain people for ICE, regardless of whether or not they have the right person. There is no incentive for them to do the right thing or help someone who gets caught up.

Most people live paycheck to paycheck. Even if they aren't deported, missing work for a few days, weeks or months while it gets straightened out can cause someone to lose everything: their house, job, etc.

What I'm hearing is that so few people are affected it doesn't matter. That is white thinking. There are real lives behind the numbers. I'm glad we care so much for fellow black folks that we are OK with injustice because the people affected are statistically insignificant. I feel much comforted.

Sometimes I feel like we’re poodles fighting for pit bulls to walk free in the dog park.

Now since 11/16 people’s true colors have been showing daily.

I don’t hate anyone, I’ve met too many good people of all races, but I’ve been fighting the good fight for too
long to find time to help someone who just started the fight and will nvr b concerned w my plight.

B4 we can help others we need to put ourselves in a position where we can help.

One is too many. I don't think y'all get it tho. I've been warning y'all for 2+ years. Stephen Miller via Trump is coming for EVERYBODY. Hispanics are the face of it to gin up public support and keep other marginalized groups from speaking out in their defense. It's a headfake and a distraction while other groups are targeted. With the racist history of this country, Blacks, Jews, and Japanese Americans ought to be the main ones speaking out.

Everyday in the news we are hearing about the border, but few stories about Jamaicans, Haitians and other groups being targeted or black folks getting caught up looking for ppl in those groups. I can't find the link now, but they are even snatching up kids and teenagers trying to get them to falsely confess to being non citizens.

We have always had accidents happen. Before Trump this guy was a naturalized citizen, but he was still held for 3 1/2 years and the judge said he gets no compensation. Now they are on overdrive snatching people up and trying to ship them out without due process.

Rights eroded for anybody are rights eroded for everybody. Just like black folks have been used to get white folks to ignore injustice against us and to vote against their own interest, Hispanics are being used the same way. It's psychological manipulation. It might "feel good" to see another group get their comeuppance, expecially if they have been racist toward blacks in the past, but it harms our own self interest in the long run to not to stop white supremacy while we have the chance when it comes for another group. We have precedents being set that can harm all of us.

This is the entire point, it's not about their survival, it's about our own and folks are to shortsighted to see it. Hispanics were getting the heat, but at the same time they have been focusing on black folks from black countries who have TPS and DACA status and have been stopping black folks (American) questioning them and suddenly ADOS blows up to drive a bigger wedge between us and other black communities, so we are letting them fend for themselves also. They aren't profiling immigrants from white countries. We can all get caught up. While this was happening we had native born black folks being labeled black identity extremists, and native Americans being targeted over treaties and water rights, not to mention Muslims. ALL AT THE SAME TIME with Trump political circus playing out in the foreground to distract. He is a white supremacists wet dream. No one can afford to be self absorbed and ignore the plight of others. They are trying to weaken everyone at the same time and for the life of me I don't understand why no one sees the patterns or the big picture.

Just today we had a hearing with a Trump DOJ appointee who won't say whether or not Brown vs Board of Education was decided properly and in the past week Betsy Devos put forth the argument that black kids get suspended and disciplined more because they are inherently more difficult children. The civil rights division has been gutted and domestic terrorism defunded but black folks think they are safe because it's Hispanics they see on tv in cages. I just don't get it.
