This response is to Kurai, and everybody else that is takin Imus' side in this matter.

There is NO double-standard or hypocrisy in what happened with Don Imus. There are some things that white's just CAN NOT say to Black people or about Black people. And here is why:

NOBODY ELSE HAS GONE THROUGH WHAT WE HAVE GONE THROUGH.

The Jews possibly have, but not in America, or at least not as much as we have in America.

From the time the slave ships carrying our ancestors FIRST touched the American coast line up until about 40 or so years ago, we have NEVER had a chance for equality in this country. We were slaves for the longest. Then we got free, but were STILL being held as social slaves, because we still couldn't do the same things as whites.

But throughout all of that history, BLACKS WERE DEGRADED AND DEMEANED.

They raped our women, cut open their pregnant belly's to steal their children and left them for dead, they beat and insulted us, created words (i.e. coon, boy, nigg!er, etc.), we have been insulted ALL THROUGHOUT OUR TIME IN AMERICA.

And yet we are supposedly "making a big deal" about Imus?

Let me ask you this: If we were to all start making rape jokes IN FRONT OF a rape victim, a family member/friend of a rape victim, or someone who has come from a long line of rape victims (and we KNEW that person's history with rape), SHOULD THAT PERSON NOT BE JUSTIFIED IN RETALIATING?
