As California's Largest Lake (Salton Sea) approaches an environmental point of no return, I attempted to be the first person to walk around its hazardous shoreline in the soaring summer temperatures in order to prevent an ecologic disaster that could impact the entire western hemisphere. LOL I remember Sonny Bono tried very hard to revive this useless body of water. I wonder if there's any ongoing research to revitalize the area, and bring it back to sustaining life both on land and in the water.
