In the last season, Marlo was beefing with a security officer at a store and had him killed. I watched it over and over and I still don't know what was the reason for the beef. Was it something that had been brewing over a while or was this just some random cat that Marlo felt like smoking? That's the only murder on that show that I didn't understand.​

I know that part....But why was Marlo fuckin with dude in the first place. The way the scene in the store was set up, it made me think that they had a prior run in with each other that led to Marlo trying ol dude by stealing candy in that store.​

Marlo thought he ran shit and that he could take what he pleased, but the other man thought other wise and told Marlo he didn't want no trouble but he was a man that took his job for what it was worth. Marlo did not like the feeling of being out-manned by him, so he felt the need to send a message to his workers that he is "the man" in charge.

he was basically ignoring dude when he took the lollipop.
that was the point
dude was inconsequential in his mind and dude didn't like that and felt the need to speak up.
the fact that he spoke up was all marlo needed to get kill him
senseless yes but nothing mindboggling about it. don't understand what's so hard to get about that.

I thought it was because dude was icegrillin Marlo from the jump, like he expected him to do something. The way he looked at Marlo when he came in the store. Did you notice Marlo was cool until he looked up and saw the security guard staring him down. Then he was like this muthafucka is dissin me by watching me like those old white dept store people, so Im gonna give his ass a reason to stare. Thats when he took the suckers and stared at him like what you gonna do now. The "one way" term comes from him thinkin that the security guard wanted him to respect his job, but he himself didnt respect Marlo as a person based on appearance alone. Not enough to kill dude over but thats what I got from it. Allot of people want shit to be one way, and that is one of the worst forms of disrespect. I should respect a cop that doesnt respect me??? Fuck that shit.

The security guard felt he had to at least say to the youngn, "hey, I'm not your enemy, but I am a man and at least respect me and my job....Damn."

Marlo had him merked just for speaking up, cause to a nigga like Marlo, the only "right" thing the security guard could have done, is looked the other way.

I just finished watching Season three again, and the security guard murder reiterated how destructive that way of thinking is; just like it was illustrated in Season three with Avon's war with Marlo, when Avon was at a point when he could have moved up to wholesale and left that banging on the corner shit to the younguns. NO FLEX

I think it was also used as a way to get Snoop caught up in the murders. The way the dumb broad threw was holdin the badge wit her bare hands and just threw it in the grass in front of the vacants.
I think its a wrap for Chris & Snoop in season 5.

Marlo had just gotten owned at the card table by those old heads and needed to fuck with somebody, anybody. It could have been any random cat that he did that to. That segment was used to show how Marlo deals with losing. He's unstable and emotional to those who are weaker than him, when he's not the HNIC.
