6 year old solves Rubiks cube in 38 seconds? (video)

looks like his parents gave him that for his first birthday, threw him in the basement and said knock yourself out, thats no way kid to live

Lots of young kids can knock out spatial puzzles like the Rubik's cube out in relatively no time compared to adults....when I was 5 I could do it in about a minute 30....I wouldnt even try doin it today

its something to do with young children having insane spatial reasoning

if you look in the begining sec. he has yellow side already done ??????
Impressive. The hardest part is to get the top layer. so even if he has a side done its still amazing.

Though impressive for a 6 y.o. I can tell you that it is near impossible to be done in 38 secs. Making 2 moves/sec will give you a max of 76 to finish the puzzle and that doesn't include strategizing.

I use to do it in under 3 minutes, don't know if i could do it now.

Wonder how the cube would do today w/ our less than like to be challenged generation.

Most of yall are probably too young to remember the original release of the Rubik's cube. There were many books released that demonstrated how to solve the cube. I, and several of my nerdy friends had these books. We solved the cube in under 30 secs with little difficulty. Getting one side done is the key, after that you just have to follow the pre determined steps to complete the subsequent sides. If you can solve a 20 piece jigsaw puzzle then you have the intelligence to solve the cube. I am certain that those books still exist. I am not all that impressed.

Please don't take this the wrong way. But did you and your friends solve it on your own or with help from the books?

I don't know if you have ever worked one but it doesn't matter if one side is already done cuz you keep turning it back and forth anyway!!

No offense taken. We solved it with the the formulas in the book. 99.5 % of everyone that every solved the cube back in those days used a formula obtained from a book. You can't just pick up the cube and solve it by chance. Too many combination. That kid's parents taught him/her the formulas. If I remember correctly, there are about 6 formulas to memorize.

Here is a site that discusses the formulas/steps to solving the cube.
