5 Prejudices That Still Show Up in Every Movie

Really???Is that suppose to shut down his point???
That zoe saldana broad got more movies with a white dude as a love interest than any Black actor had with a white female.
When they are talking bout love interest they not talking bout holding hands and hugging. Will Smith in I-Robot didn't get tha draws even though she was supposed to be tha love interest. They just implied they liked each other.
In I Am Legend you best believe your ass that their would have been a sex scene if tha lead character was white.3 years with no female companion that motherfucka would have been in heat.
In Hancock they had a little kiss but again why didn't they flash back to when they were together being intimate???If that was some Black actress and a white dude somewhere in that movie they would have shown them fucking.

Tha hypocrisy in all this is studios say that white audience members(white males) would be pissed off at tha thought of a Black man and white female together but they are tha ones who in real life make up tha majority of interracial porn buyers(Black man white female) and have and live out fantasies of Black men fucking their wives/girlfriends.
Oh no you can have all tha white women you want in real life but in a movie you niggaz better stick to your own.I don't care either way but you gotta laugh at how ass backwards this bullshit is sometimes.

I thought that had more to do with the assumption about the perceptions of black criminality than anything. Any black man is seen as a threat, and a black man with a gun is automatically a criminal while a white man is given the benefit of the doubt. The meme is so deeply ingrained. That is my vantage point.

Yup.Like that Black cop off duty in NY that got gunned down by officers when he was chasing a criminal...

Sidney Poitier played in a few movies where he loved a white woman and she loved him. Jim Brown did as well. Hollywood is scared of that now of days.

sidney did 3 movies where he had a white female love interest.

To Sir With Love

A Patch of Blue

Guess Whos Coming to Dinner?

in all 3 of those films he not only doesn't get the girl he has to play the PERFECT black man. His character can't have one fault because thats all the excuse anti interracial people (including blacks but especially whites) would seize on to discount the film.

In Guess Who, the white daughter of a publisher brings home a negro as her fiance. The black man she introduces to her mother isn't a salesman or a clerk he's a doctor (noble) not only is he a doctor he's a well respected international doctor (super noble). Sidney was doctors without borders before there was any. And he's a widower whose wife and kid were killed in a car accident (sympathetic). He's level headed, patient and understanding even tho his fiance is excitable and a bit flighty. He never shows anger and even when clearly miffed its subdued. And above all else he NEVER kisses or shows physical affection to his fiance during the whole film.

The way it played he may as well have been her platonic best friend she introduces to her parents.

Jim Brown on the other hand reeked of masculinity and fucked white women...but his stardom and celebrity and acclaim was no where near Poitier and pretty much regulated to black films where he could get away with that.

some 40 years later we see this again with Denzel and Will Smith..the ONLY time youve ever seen Denzel with a white woman is in a Spike Lee film (he got game and malcolm x) in other films where he would definitely be hooking up with the chick if he were white (pelican brief for example) its glossed over. Same with Smith.

The only black actor who fucked nonblack women on screen in the last 15, 20 years is Wesley Snipes.

Nice break down:yes:

As big as Fred Williamson was he didn't smash any white women (that I know of) on screen. Calvin Lockhart has a movie (The African Deal), but it was it is a South American made movie. It seems like foreign movies are more open to the idea of a black male and white female love interest.

Spike Lee wasn't afraid to cross that barrier as you mentioned. The thing that confuses me about Hollywood is they are not afraid to do the black female and white male love interest. Any explanation why?

yes..white privilege means white men can fuck ANY woman he wants.

white female love interest.

Geech, I think you may find this interesting as well. I took the time to sun-genre blaxploitation movies and I came up with 12 romance movies.

Code:
http://www.blaxploitationpride.org/search/label/Romance

This gives you the idea of how blaxploitation movies would cross that barrier.

There of course are more non-romance movies that crossed the black male/white female love interest, but I think you'll get the picture.

For whatever reason Hollywood just doesn't allow that anymore. It doesn't make sense to me because it was more controversial in the '70s compared to today where society is more liberal.

We have to understand something its not just black vs white its white vs EVERYONE ELSE.. seriously when have you ever seen an asian, brown skin latino, indian (dot or feathers) male portrayed as a romantic lead??

HNZ-mindy-kaling-0411-1-de.jpg

do you realize Mindy Kaling did something that historic for american television..

She's the FIRST indian not to mention DARK SKIN indian man or woman to head up a network television show in America...EVER..

But of course her love interest in the show is NOT an indian man..its not one but TWO white men.

does anyone really believe that if the show looked like this:

mindy+k.jpg

that it would get green lit???

It's Denzell a bigger star than Chris Rock? Why no mention of him?

his absense in the article was extremely conspicuous. Must not like him or something. After Will Smith, you HAVE to say Denzel and then you HAVE to say Samuel L. Jackson. Or you really aint saying shit.

Damn good read I remember spike lee was having a hard time with his ww II movie Miracle at St. Anna while eastwood movie flags of our fathers was getting praise.

#2. If It's a Blockbuster, the Star Better Be White (or Will Smith)

Quick: name a horror movie where one of the good guys is black. Well, hell, that's easy. One of the ship's crew in Alien was black, and some of the soldiers in Aliens. Danny Glover was the cop in Saw, Carl Weathers was one of the squad in Predator. Lawrence Fishburne in Predators. Hell, there are lots of them.

Now count how many of them survived to the end.

Pointing out that black characters die in movies isn't even clever anymore -- it's the kind of obvious, trite joke that bad movies make about other bad movies. But, inexplicably, it keeps happening. In the original Terminator, every black character shown on screen dies. In Transformers, the "black" robot who speaks in inner city slang dies.

There are some exceptions. You can bet that he won't die if he's played by a superstar like Will Smith or Eddie Murphy, who, not coincidentally, are among the very few black top-grossing actors at the box office. Otherwise, the black guy is there to get killed.

danny glover survived to the end of Predator 2..and he was the lead character

Good drop, and there are shit loads more BW/WM romance movies than BM/WM movies it's disgusting.

Good Luck, Miss Wyckoff - Black dude bangs white chick but it's rape.

Manderlay - Bryce gets smashed by black dude but awkward as hell. lol

Oh brother lmaooooooo

There was no kissin or romance shown

not to mention Will Smith is depicted as not good enough for her (flawed; drunk and lazy), implying the white chick made a mistake settling for him and could do better, was better off marrying the white man.

Later, even though they loved each other and belonged together, their love damned both of them; weakening their powers, implying they should not be together regardless of how they felt towards one another.
