49ers announcer Tim Ryan suspended over 'dark skin' comment about Lamar Jackson

not only was what he said DUMB AS F*CK

it made NO SENSE

and was patently FALSE (where this DISAPPEARING BALL HE TALKING ABOUT???)

and even WORSE?

It WAS blatantly racist.

WHY?

cause Lamar CANNOT JUST BE GOOD...

he gotta cheat.

how in the f*ck are these so called BLACK men defending that sh*t on any level

any level????
He more said something dumb than being intentionally racist.

We arent supposed to be watching football anyway. These people keep showing you who they are, when are you gonna start to believe them?

the same people offended by this statement rail at cancel culture on other topics... let this statement be about women or gays and these same people would be like :dunno::dunno::dunno: "I don't see the problem....people are too sensitive" :rolleyes2::rolleyes2::rolleyes2:

Why don’t you tell us what the women and gays think about this topic?

But we're not gay or women, we're black men (most of us anyway) so of course there will be more outrage from us, just like they're would be more outrage from gays and women if this was about them. Are they outraged about this line we are? I don't know, you can check though. this dude basically said "you're so black I can't even see the football". He should be fired.

yeah, when I posted this 2 hours earlier, I included the audio in my post.
When you hear him say it, you wonder if defenders actually think the ball disappears in the darkness.

He's not speaking from a player's perspective - more like a CAC sitting with his buddies talking about Jackson's success and avoiding just saying he's good.

I'm trying to post Whitlock & Wiley commentary but FOX blocks apparently.

Put an h-t-t-p and a w-w-w in front of this:

youre missing the point. If you're offended by that statement and I'm NOT saying we shouldn't be...you can see business is being handled...this is cancel culture in action..right here right now... Other groups see this and go "shit why can't we do that?"

So when OTHER groups get offended at some dumbshit someone says (including a black person) and start that cancel culture thing its because they've seen US do it (a historically oppressed group thats fed up with taking shit from people...guess what, we're not the only ones)... and you should understand where that's coming from. WHEN the next cancel culture thing happens and its not about black people watch cats here pretend they don't understand why it's happening...my point is cats here no empathy. If they're affected, it's an outrage; if the next man is affected, it's an outrage for them to speak on it.

This reminds me of when I was a child and a white girl asked me how did I know when I was clean after taking a bath? Since...you know... you're Black and all.

/thread

Very disappointed in Shannon...

I bet they all "friends" so they got the cape out much like that dude in the nba exec who made those African comments got "saved" by his "black" friends

Stephen will never get that pass no matter how much he makes and i aint gonna shed a tear

Word to Michele beadle.

They even said slick Jewish stuff about Josh Rosen during the draft...

Oh i noticed the Jews sports talk dudes shut that sh*t down right quick.

I'm am NOT giving these white dudes a pass.

This is NOT OK

Its just ALL these sport talk dudes are shook ones scared they gonna be the next contestant on that summer jam screen.
Honestly, some people just are not sensitive. To many, that is something that they simply would not be offended by. I for one was not offended by his comments. Should he be suspended? Of Course he should. Also depends on his track record also. Has he said dumb things in the past?

Fire him or not I could give a fuck. I'm more concerned about all these cops killing folks in the streets.

Richard Sherman...

Jesus man...

I hate dudes who just so smart they kerp landing in dumb
Man please... Some of ya'll are so emotional.

...and it's "keep", not "kerp". Before you call somebody dumb, make sure to check your spelling genius.:smh:

I don't watch FS. Wiley cooning now or something?

Are you really surprised by Mr. All Lives Sherman...

A little surprised he went EXTRA..

real EXTRA

but the minute I heard Stephen A Smith say he was WAITING for Sherman to respond?

It was a wrap.

Damn.

But Sherman is actually a really smart dude though.

I can disagree with someone and respect them. But this isn't really a disagree thing

Its a damn reach and attempt to defend a white man over a brother.

I can't co sign that.

:giggle: Man...I'm bustin' your chops.

It is what it is. Black folks don't have to agree all the time on the same shit.

EXACTLY...

but the thing is watch how they caping for the WHITE MAN and do NOT do this for the one who looks JUST LIKE THEM.

The context of the statement centers on his belief that the COMBINATION of Lamar's skin color, football and more importantly the color of THAT particular uniform gives him and advantage and the defense a disadvantage.

Reaction time is everything in sports. I'm pretty sure we can agree on that. Think of a play action pass. The defense calls a play. Their success is literally contingent on recognition. Now I say that NOT to validate his argument; he did mention skin color, ball color and uniform color but to lead into why his argument actually has MERIT.

I'm sure there are members in BV who have either played baseball or have kids play baseball. Pitchers aren't allowed to have long, white sleeves when they're on the mound. Why? Because the batter is at a disadvantage. While they can see the arm, seeing the ball (especially a higher velocity) is extremely difficult. That disadvantage is actually dangerous. Even without white long sleeve shirts batters are ducking and jumping out the box to avoid being hit. Now imagine not seeing the ball for even a fraction of a second.

The point of his comment was to focus on those three things coming together to camouflage the ball. In baseball that's precisely what a white long sleeve shirt would do for a pitcher. I'm not sure if that rule is applicable in MLB but the logic is still the same. My kid pitches. He's 14, 6'2" and 195lbs. You need to see the ball. Seriously.

I don't see the malice. Just the ignorance.

Don't explain that to these dudes. They already know all that. They just gonna call you a coon later.

You all gone get enough of going downtown and getting the white man involved in your arguments.
