This might mean something if the corruption and deregulation was done on Obama's watch. I don't wanna always point to Bush and his people, but their policies (not Obama's) were responsible for the reckless environment that lead to this. Obama could've done a better job minimizing the damage after the leak started, but watch the repubs get in his way when he tries to change the laws to make BP and other oil cos. more accountable.

It's already happening:

He is the main offender with his claims of too much government intrusion and nanny state socialism, yet when a calamity has a direct effect to his life, he wants the evil government to move heaven and earth. Where is the personal responsibility? (sarcasm)

Of course the multi billion dollar free enterprise company with the supposed expertise of fixing this is less culpable than the government. Now the government should be in the oil business. If this isn't the ultimate in privatizing the profits, socializing the messes, I don't know what is!

WWRPD?

The first sentence any conservative/libertarian would more than likely quote would be "We want a strong LIMITED government".

The thing you, and your side do not understand is that most *if not all* conservative thinkers do not want this large, over regulated, slow, weak government. The one thing that's constant with this situation, and Katrina is the fact that the government was too slow on its response. Either on the local level *for Katrina*, or the federal level *for this Oil spill*.

In fact, the only thing Obama should of did was to give the governors *of red states I might add* what they want. However, this is the administration that says "never let a good tragedy go to waste....". So what should anyone aspect? Plus, we going to have dickheads like you saying it's Bush's fault anyway.

Oh go away. Everything you say reeks of hypocrisy. This wouldn't have happened if Texas oil President GW and is oil Vice President hadn't allowed BP to have a drilling premit that didn't allow for an emercgency such as this. Too much regulation, now you want more, just limited. What an actinanass! Last year, the republican south didn't want the federal government's stimulus money. They eventually took it. Then they wanted to succeed. Too much government, Now they want the federal government's help. Tell me this Mr. Anti Obama, why is it that the "governors *of red states" (except Schwarzenegger) didn't want the governments money last year now you are begging for the president to give the "governors *of red states what they want."

BTW, fat ass Mississippi Governor Haley Barbour said "there ain't enough oil on Mississippi's beaches to fill a milk jug."

Doesn't Texas have a nation guard?

I guess the tree hugging environmentalist were lying.

Drill baby, drill!
